Default DVD Anime: Box Sets or Individuals?

I was at Best Buy the other day looking to buy some DBZ animes. I wanted to get a few of the Saiyan Saga but all they had was the whole Saiyan (or most of it) Saga as a boxed set for $96.99!! I was like, man, that's insane! Individuals episodes were $17.99. I was hoping to pay like $15 for individual DVDs but it wasn't gonna happen. I wana buy other anime DVDs but I'm sure boxed sets of those won't be cheap either. Since only 3 episodes are on one DVD for DBZ, I guess I may as well buy them in boxed sets. I may have to do the same for the rest of my animes.

i always stick with box sets. they look so much cooler
i say keep shopping around. im pretty sure you can find a DBZ boxset thats less than $96.
you might want to check out amazon.com. their prices are reasonable.

Although I don't have any animes on DVD, except GitS and Jin-Roh, I want Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop.
I found that indiviually, Bebop is around $150, give or take. If you buy the Perfect Session, which includes all 6 DVDs and Session 0, the music CD, it costs over $300.

But Outlaw Star costs about $135 or less separately, and the box set with all 3 DVD sets (each individual set has 2 discs) it costs about $80-100, from what I saw at FYE.

When I finally get a job, I'm definitely getting the entire series of both though... reguardless of price.

just dont shop on ebay for box sets. most of the time they are just boogleged copies.
i got a cowboy bebop boxset for i think $60. it had everysingle episode on 3 cds. one HUGE problem, the english subtitiles were HORRIBLE! 98% of the time you had no clue what they were talking about.

Well that sucks. Maybe I'll buy some boxed sets in Suncoast Video. They have a TON of anime. Hopefully cheaper ones, too.

Yeah Reg, it's pretty surprising how much anime Suncoast has for being such a mainstream store. It makes anime fiends lives like ours much easier.

I'm using some of my tax return dough to buy a boxed set of Dragon Ball Z DVDs. I'm getting nearly the entire Saiyan Saga.
