From ESPN.com:
Sasha Vujacic (picked 27th by the Lakers) Now that rumored Shaq trade doesn't mean anything! I have to say I was surprised by the number and position of the high schoolers picked. Anyone else?

I was absolutly sure that the Jazz would get Nelson when the Heat inexplicably passed on him, my exact words were "No way the Nuggets pick him, they don't need a point guard.." and of course, they picked him and later traded him to to Orlando. I'm still pumped that they got Humphries and Snyder but man, what a draft it would have been if they had managed to land a ticked off Jameer Neslon to go along with that. We're talking maybe the future Malone and Stockton plus a very good 2 guard. I'm still not sure why they would pick someone at 21 overall and then trade him to Dallas for what they know will be a low first round pick next year.
I wasn't surprised at the number of high schoolers picked but I was surpirsed by how high a few of them (Telfair and Wright) went. I'll never understand how so many European players go so high though, only a few of them ever turn out to be anything. More often than not you get a 7 foot guy who can't play inside and wants to stand outside and shoot threes all game. |

Yes, thanks for bringing up the Lakers, Shaq, and the NBA, so i can so forget it. Thats all they have been talking about on the radio, Shaq to the Mavs, and i am oh so ready for COWBOYS football. Ready for the NBA to disappear for six months or longer, maybe ten, its time for a strike isnt it? Larry Bird was right, just not enough of us in the game anymore.

Shaq wants to be traded to "a playoff contended who has enough money to pay him, people to trade and is in a warm climate"
Teams left: Lakers ![]() I think the lakers will land on their feet. Payton is staying and hopefully the new coach will actually use him.

Shaq should (and likely) will go to Orlando.

No way, they'd have to give up most of their roster to get him and they really don't have the players to pull it off.

I've heard the Orlando scenario, with Franchise joining him. Supposedly Stevie even called Shaq about it.
That'd be interesting... I wonder if Shaq could return to dominence if he had a PG who really wanted to utilize him most of the time.

What makes you think Francis would want to do that? He's always been a ball dominating player even when he had the best passing big man since Bill Walton in Yao Ming (which is why I'm not sure the T-Mac and Yao duo will work, T-Mac always wants the ball and feels the need to try and take his man one on one every play and the offense SHOULD be running through Yao).

This sort of has something to do with the NBA Draft - trades.
HUGE trade just recently: Tracy McGrady, Juwan Howard, and Tyronn Lue go to the Houston Rockets for Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, and Kelvin Cato (to the Magic). That's an INSANE trade, one I think is mostly in favour of the Houston Rockets. A lotta people are already calling the combo of McGrady and Yao quite similar to the Kobe/Shaq combo that was ever so dominant (although not dominant enough to win a championship! HAHAHA) on the Lakers. Can't wait to see how these teams play next season...
