Default The Foo Fighters are the greatest current rock band.

First post. Just testing the waters.

But yeah, as far the thread title, I most certainly feel that. I've been listening to them for the past 2 years now. Never a point when I got sick of them. Still my 3rd favorite band of all time.

I don't really care for many of today's rock bands because they don't fulfill my style besides a couple of Japanese bands I've been into recently (mainly The Pillows).

When I saw this forum, Jimi Hendrix was listed first, and that got an instant from me.

edit: Oh yeah, the Beatles need some loving too..

I completely disagree. I don't like their sound anymore. I loved them when I was in High School (I still like their eponym album and a few tracks on the Colour and the Shape) - but they completely lost me with the 3rd album.

Nothing Left to Lose and Colour and Shape are pretty similar albums. It was One by One where the band went all haywire. But shit, One by One owns!

Foo Fighters rock. And their b-sides are ****in' awesome. A320 and Down in the Park are both utterly incredible.

Foo Fighters rule. Believe it or not, the first time I ever heard them was in Varsity Blues the movie. I believe the song was Hero. After that I bought all there albums. Pretty cool band indeed.

Yep, it was Hero. It was a great song for the movie, and especially for that scene. I'm watching the live DVD now. It's so damn good.

I wouldn't call them the greatest current rock band, but they're certainly up there. I own and really like all of their albums. Dave Grohl is flat out brilliant.
