Default So I quit EB today.

I gave in my two weeks today, because I've had enough of EB and their outrageously unfair labor. They pay me 6.25 an hour, for 6 months straight, I was the best employee of the store. My figures were always the highest, and I was on top of my district manager's list (that obnoxious pompous *******). My review comes, and all I got was a quarter raise. A mere 25 cents. For all of the work I do, all I got was a quarter, not to mention all of this extra bullshit they want us to do now.

It's so unfair how they treat us. There is a new return policy that will go in effect on the 17th, and it'll basically destroy the whole store. People will not be able to return products if they don't like it - only if it's sealed, or defective (which they will get a new copy). Now, how can I, as a salesman, feel comfortable and guilt free about selling something to someone? We'd have to promote a new Vender of the Month every month, so what if I told somebody Zelda: TWW will be an incredible experience and that he has to pick it up. So the guy takes my advice, picks up Wind Waker, and he tries to return it. He doesn't like it, he prefers the Zelda's before this one. Now it's on my shoulders. "Dammit, I was foced to sell this game to him, now I feel like shit". Imagine if it's something bad like an Acclaim game? Last summer Acclaim was our VOM and if that policy was in effect, our store would've been closed by now.

Come to think of it, the reason our store has been so successful is because of the employees. Everybody knows each other, we know a vast majority of the customers by name, and on many occasions we even hang out after work. My manager is the #1 reason for this. He's a very warm and accepting guy. The DM has been on his case for a long time, and mark my words, once my manager leaves, EB store #2512 will go down.

That sucks man, but at least you got the balls to stand up for what you believe is right. I firmly believe that you will wind up in a better place after this.

I've always hated EB. I'm sure it's more my perception than anything else, but Babbage's just seems more hometown to me...Electronics Boutique seems more corporate, and at least in my town the people are meaner and less knowledgeable than their counterparts across the mall.

And before you ask, yes, it does bother me when cashiers are rude. I'm really very frail.

I don't mind my EB. The manager is pretty neat, I guess...

But what other videogame-specific stores do I have? Compucenter, which overcharges their games by about $10 each? EB's great in comparison.

But yeah, quiting is fun sometimes.

We have 2 EBs around here I frequent, mostly just to check the new stuff out.
I used to by Magic cards there.
Well, anyways, I know that the people are supposed to push certain games to customers, but actually, for all the times I've been in either store, not a single employee has ever tried to get me to buy a game. Probably cause I have the distinct additude that I'm poor.. works everytime. lmao.

The one EB in Warren is really small, but the people are cool, and I've never had a problem with it.

The one in Lakewood, NY is shit. It's bigger, but the manager is a bitch, and the guy that's behind the couner doesn't like me because I called him a "****ing ****" because he waited till the last moment to tell me my trade games were worth shit.
The manager is a total bitch. Two guys came in looking for Network Adaptors, and all she did was bitch how Sony is never on time with their shipment. And they sat there pissing around the entire time (Gee, I wonder why Sony doesn't like that EB).. So I told the two kids to say **** it to EB, cause a nearby Walmart had about 5 NA's left, and the manager got pissed cause she lost $80. With the way she manages, She's already probably gotten close to bankrupting the store.

Uhm. yeah...
Enough complaining from me.

I completely understand, Arnold, your EB sounds like mine. Ive known everyone there for years, they know me by name, by sound, etc... Even talk to some of the former employees some just to see how they are getting along in their new endeavours... The one thing that really compelled me to do business with EB was that return policy. Although i dont do that much biz with em nowadays, it will hurt their business, no doubt..
