I think the 20gb is the best value, i say this because the iPod Dock, Apple Controller, & the Carrying Case sold seperatly are a $120 value. So basically you are getting an extra 5gb of space then the 15gb iPod plus the $120 worth of accessories.

Also the 40gb Small iPod is slightly bigger in its dimension size then the 15gb and 20gb Small iPod.

Another fact that may be useful, is that the case Apple provides is needed for the Small iPods because they do scratch easily and the case will protect the iPod, as for the Mini iPod it is made out of a scratchless material, the same material that the G4 PowerBooks & the G5's are made out of, if i'm not mistaken it's Titanium.

I figured that adding $100 to get twice the space is good, despite the fact that it is .12 inches thicker.
