Default Got any savings/investments?

I know these are personal things so I'm not going to ask about amounts, I was just interested in who actually puts aside for the future and what made them choose the savings/investments plans they use.

I currently have a company pension

An ISA (Tax free saving account)

A deposit account (used for any medical expenses)

An ING Savings account (used to help with any unexpected costs for my bike)

about 20% of my net income is put away each month.

Talking

Nortel dropped back to 6cents a share last week. Seeing as I will be working with them this summer, the shares are bound to double in the next few months. I'm thinking of putting a couple of bucks in it. :]

What's 401K? I've heard you guy mention it before but I don't know what it is.

I thought more of the older guys here would have some sort of savings or pensions.??

You're only about 0.002% on your way man, keep that train chugging!

As for me, no, I'm a lazy bastard.

I have a few bank accounts, mainly saving and checking. I have a little bit of stock in Best Buy and Target, nothing big.
I have a deposit only account for my nephew/godson set up so no one can take money out unless I change the account. Money can only be put in, which I thought was pretty cool. I have this set up so my drugged out sister can't tap into it. I'm only 18 and I have a little under 4 grand in there for his college. Its kind of a burdern having to start saving up for someone else's college when NEXT YEAR you're attending college, but oh well.

Man it sucks being in the real world, not getting allowance, having to work and actually plan for the future...

hmm. I'm only 17 so I haven't had much time to save up but I have:

$3,250 in savings bonds ($6500 face value)
$700 in checking
$100 in a credit union
$240 in another credit union
$3,000 in cash under the bed

and I just paid $7,700 in cash for my nissan truck with 38,000 miles on it. None of this money was given to me...I've worked for it all at $6-$7 hour.

You get I nice sense of satisfaction when you buy something like that with your own hard earned cash.
