Because it has a guitar line that doesn't comprise of "dum dum dum dum dum" (the same repeated lines over and over) doesn't mean it's a mess. It's called jamming, and while some jamming might be messy, this certainly isn't. :/

If you want jamming, listen to Grateful Dead live. As for this song, the combination of the whacked out piano and guitar together didn't go together out all, which makes it a mess. The guitar along by itself would've been fine.
