im guessing they are saying that channel 4 will allow cursing on their station without any bleeps.

As far as I'm aware they haven't bleeped out swearing for years, as long as it isn't shown too early. I think these ads are reminding people that Channel 4 has repeatedly pushed back the boundaries of acceptable terrestrial TV broadcasting, and that if it wasn't for Channel 4 British TV might have been very different.

Of course, now that Channel 4 has become obsessed with reality TV and was responsible for bringing it to British shores the channel isn't as celebrated as it once was...
