I don't recall ever seeing deleted threads to hide embarrassement for quite some time... It dates before your era here, Ryan.

I don't know if I've ever witnessed so much idiocy floating around on a single thread. Let me set the record straight about some things, okay?

Any thread that is potentially embarassing to the staff here is deleted on the sly. It's just the way things are done here.

Yeah, the moderators here are really concerned about their public image. We've gotten pretty good at playing politics. For my part, I've deleted about three individual posts since I've had adminsitrative authority here, and they all contained incendiary garbage that would have led to forum brawls; it's never had anything to do with the staff trying to avoid being embarrassed by the members of the forum. Come on, Hartmann--I expect this nonsense from svosen, but not from you.

I stated two sentences about why I support our reasoning to go to war with Iraq, plus a sentence about "Yes, Odin, I did a contiguous quote." He posted by adding two paragraphs about Hans Blix opposing the war on Iraq (in the process saying Hans Blix is very intelligent, implying he did not support the war), and "Now. LordArchy. Never drop my name again." He also said I deserved to be skinned into a handbag because I was so stupid. Well, I see, I guess I'm not good enough to say Odin's name because I try to express my opinion.

So, let's see. I ban you, you slither back, and then you risk a second ban by conceding your contempt for authority? Amazing, but nevermind. Let's set that aside. Since you've managed to spin our conflict pretty admirably, I'd like to remind you what actually happened. Whether you knew it or not, you called me out by waving your contempt of my distaste for 'contiguous quotes' in my face, so I responded by joking about what I thought of your opinion on the war. Stens got it. If you'd been at the forum for more than a matter of weeks, you would have gotten it, too. You proceeded to tell me to that I "suck my dad's ****" and "eat shit," so you earned yourself a ban. You'll find that very few moderators tolerate those attacks, and anyway your claims were half-truths, at best. See? Sarcasm. And self-deprecating sarcasm, at that! My goodness.

Directly after that, Svosen created a thread that criticized Odin for argueing the way he does. It was immediately locked, and Svosen was given a warning that if he did it again, he would be banned. Way to be able to "express your opinion."

I wasn't the one who locked svosen's thread, actually--I've never locked a thread as long as I've been here, and moreover, that topic was eventually reopened by the mod who closed it so I could respond.

This isn't the first time it's happened. I tried to revive the thread that this happened in, to help prove my point, but it was deleted a while ago.

So, wait a second. You're saying that the moderators deleted a thread that flew in the face of their authority? That's not right...I'll look into that for you. Honestly, what the hell did you think was going to happen? When your threads get deleted, there's a reason, and pursuing those topics after they die isn't going to make you any friends. Get a clue.

You're lucky you're still around. One slip and you're gone. I mean it. And in the admittedly vague category of "slips," I'm including your brainless protestations that your original ban was unfair and that "Odin is a meanie." Everyone already knows that. Shut up and contribute.
