Only to prevent an uprising, I think. Romans didn't really want to kill Jesus. Pilate washed his hands and said he wants no part in it.

The part about PILATE WASHING HIS HANDS is in the Bible that I got at home, it's in the book they read at Church and it was in my book for religion class. I remember correctly.

I noticed that you felt pretty strongly against the movie because many people saw it as the Jews being blamed, and I just wanted to know if you were Jewish yourself.

The whole movie is a ****ing mess.

Actually, Arnold, in the bible Pilate does sympathize with Jesus, on top of which Gibson made it quite clear that this was, overall, his specific vision, and he admits to taking certain liberties in certain parts of the movie.

However, whether you use the biblical or historical records of Christ, He was betrayed by the Pharasies and executed by Rome, which was the point I was trying to make.

I read and watched a lot of reviews stating the opposite. I'm not religion buff, I'm throwing that out right now; I'm not going to put up any arguements there. I'm just saying what I heard.

That's not how Jesus last 12 hours lasted. The Roman (?) emperor did not sympathize with Jesus, either. The movie grossly depicts Jews as those who killed Jesus. And they didn't.

The movie is under scrutiny for a reason. It wrongly depicts certain events, and even exaggerates in some cases. Hell, either way if I saw the movie, I wouldn't know what parts are the supposedly the ****ed up ones. Like I said, I'm no religion buff. It's all just a bunch of hoopla.
