Woman dies from watching Passion of Christ - Page 2

Wow, I've just seen this movie and... getting a heart attack from it doesn't seem so far-fetched. The movie is filled with blood, gore and violence. It was awesome and beautiful though. They desevre every peeny they get for this movie. Better than LotR. I'm moved.

I will see the movie, but I know it's full of shit. That's not how Jesus last 12 hours lasted. The Roman (?) emperor did not sympathize with Jesus, either. The movie grossly depicts Jews as those who killed Jesus. And they didn't.

Not one specific group of people contributed to his death. The fact is that everybody took part in his death. I don't know the specifics, because I think religion is a bunch of bullshit, but I do know that Jews were grossly depicted in the movie.

Man. sounds like someone is take this a little offensively =/ I think, in a sense, the jews did kill him, moe so than anyone else did, but I'll also say that they weren't the only ones. Jews never considered him to be the actual son of Christ, and him going around saying he was, probably, in a sense, was blasphemy.

Jews didn't kill Jesus; they just betrayed him to the Romans and had them do it. Not much historical doubt on that one either.

I will also point out that this does not imply Jewish people or Judaism as something evil, since EVERY religion has people who use their "faith" as a means to further their own personal agenda. The pharasies of the day colluded with the Romans to kill Jesus because they saw him as a threat to their faith. That doesn't reflect on anyone but the ones in power who committed the act.

Once people understand that, it becomes clear that the movie is not anti-semetic at all.

No Jumbo, there aren't fundamentally different versions of the bible, but the bible does differ in many ways from other records of history. However, history, even from a secular point of view, records that a man named Jesus who lived in Palestine was executed by Pontius Pilate, emporer of Rome, after he was betrayed by the Pharasies.

The only important distinction to make is between people and religion. The actions of a few people of Jewish belief does not represent the Jewish faith nor the majority of the people who follow it. Same for every religion.

Right...and in the movie the Roman Emperor sympathized with Jesus, which never happened, because the Romans took part in killing Jesus.

The whole movie is a ****ing mess.
