I want to see it. I don't know if I will, but I'll try to go see it, definitely.

Yeah. Mel Gibson is too good when it comes to this type of movie. Who could pass it up?

I'm jewish and i could care less about movies dealing strictly with religion.

As for this movie, i wouldn't even want to rent it or see it when it gets on HBO, hell i wouldn't watch it when it got onto Channell 13.

I'm more into Gangster Films and Comedies, if i watch anything else that means it must be somethign really huge and i still doubt i'll like it. Like Kill Bill, I did not want to see it, but everyone was praising it so much so me and Arnold went to see it, and personally i did not find the movie to be that great.

Kill Bill rocked. You have to really appreciate classic king-fu movies from the 70s and early 80s to enjoy it.

Exactly, i was never really into the Kung Fu movies, for some reason it just never interested me.

I'm not saying the movie was bad, just that the movie is not for me.

It's supposed to be very well done so yeah I'll probably make an attempt to see it. I'm no longer a Christian (not really much for organized religion in general to be honest) but I was raised as a Catholic, and attended Catholic grade school, so I have a very good knowledge of the subject and think it should make for a pretty powerful movie.

EDIT: Saw it tonight, and WOW. Just a great movie, although being that I'm not a Christian my reaction to was a bit different to that of a Christian friend I saw it with. It moved him because it showed the man he considers his Lord and Savior giving his life for his people. I was moved because it showed a good man, who seemed to have some good things to say and has helped millions lead a better life unjustly killed. And the reports of it being graphically violent are true. This is easily the bloodiest movie I've ever seen. I don't consider myself to be all that squeamish and there were several parts that caused me to openly cringe, particularly the scourging (whipping) scenes. Still it's just an amazing movie, I highly recommend it.

I still haven't seen the movie (unfortuneately), but from the accounts I've heard from both sides, the worst you could call it would be "Historical Fiction".

Obviously some liberties have to be taken when making a movie about ANY historical event (unless you have first-hand witnesses). However, basically everyone agrees that the man Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, and the manner in which the crucifixion was portrayed in the film is reportedly accurate by the accounts of historians.

The only real debate is whether or not Jesus was (is) the son of God.

Anyhow, I wouldn't force it on anyone. I just hope the people who do see the movie are enlightened in some way.
