Just wondering your thoughts on these guys. I heard a few songs on the radio, mainly Are You Gonna be My Girl (gettin lots of airtime around here...), and also Get What You Need on the NHL 2004 soundtrack. These guys from "down under" are simply amazing, going back to the roots of rock and roll. They do have some Beatles influence to them, with sweet guitar choruses and catchy lyrics. A new favourite of mine, wondering if anyone else is into them?

Someone else made a thread about them sometime ago. We all agreed they were a shitty, shitty band, despite having a good single. The rest of the album is sooo bad.

Holy crap. I didn't even notice that part. I guess their singer did try and rip off The Beatles (circa Abby Road).

Just because there's an influence from The Beatles in their style of music, it doesn't mean they're ripping them off.

I made a thread about them.

I thought their single was really good..so I listened to the rest of their songs...and they aren't that great at all.

I like to call it ripping off. Go listen to certain songs from Abbey Road. It's blatant.

The single is kinda catchy (although at this point it's been overplayed and mostly just gets on my nerves) but other than that, terrible band.

I don't think you understand what the word INFLUENCE means. Are we talking about Abbey Road? No, we're talking about Jet. I can only think of one or two songs that sound even remotely similar to The Beatles, and even then its only in certain lines of the song.
