Is "Are you Gonna be My girl" that starts off with him going,"123, tell me hows its gonna be" or something like that? If so, it sucks, horribly. Its played on the radio all the time, and I can't stand it anymore. Not to mention the fact that its on Madden 2004 aswell. They suck.
People should seriously stop trying to be like the Beatles, no one will ever reach their status in the music world. I almost literally puked and flipped over a desk when someone tried to tell me that Mariah Carey was the "Beatles of the 90s" or some bullshit like that. :STFU: |

Maybe the guy isn't trying to sound like Paul McCartney and it just happens that his voice sounds quite similar? Ever think of that? The same could be said about Muse. "Oh, the lead singer is just trying to sound like Thom York." Again, you can point out many bands where the lead singers sounds eerily similar, ie. many pop/punk bands.
Not everybody dislikes them. Myself and Lue like 'em, and I believe Hannible said he thinks they're ok, but you may have scared off any other people who would have said they like them because of your intense defamation of the band's lead singer. And yes, I do know (to an extent) who does and does not like them now.

Matthew Bellamy sounds nothing like Thom Yorke. And I didn't scare anyone off. If I did, then good. Anybody who's too ***** to actually stand up and say otherwise doesn't deserve to be on a forum. |

Matthew Bellamy sounds everything like Thom Yorke.
I haven't heard an awful lot of Muse, but in the material I've listened to the two sound very similar.

when a persons singing voice sounds like anothers...it isn't coincedence, it is a conscious decision to sound like that other person.
I can sound like a handfull of different vocalists when I sing....at the drop of a hat...Kurt Cobain, Jon Davis, Sully, Corey Taylor, Aaron Lewis, Fiona Apple, SOMETIMES Maynard...(there are still some notes I just can't produce.....) It's not coincedence that he sounds like that...he chooses to.

I agree somewhat with Bellamy sounding like Yorke. While it's easy to draw comparisons immediately, after extensive listenings they differ a fair bit.
But then again if you had to split all the worlds vocalists into groups, Bellamy and Yorke would be side by side. Off Topic, Muse - Hullabaloo is bloody wonderful. Possibly the best concert DVD I have ever had the pleasure of watching.
