I think that marriage is and always will be connected to religion and as same sex relationships are not permitted it would be State interfering with Religion if same sex marriage was made legal.
I do however think that there should be a contract of union binding homosexuals in the same way as heterosexuals are bound. I also feel that only contractually bound homosexuals should be able to adopt as a couple, as should be the case with heterosexual couples. I don't mean only couples should be able to adopt but as adoption is decided upon by situation, financial income etc then two people should not be able to adopt as a couple if they are not legally bound to each other

If two guys wanna marry each-other....go ahead, they are most likely going to get a divorce anyways.
I'm against the ammendment.

Generally I've always heard 50%, as I'm sure most of you have. I've never heard 75% as you're trying to argue, but regardless, the numbers are unfounded. Read this article: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/d/divorce.htm Basically, the statistics that are being presented show that roughly for every 100 marriages that occur in a year, there are also 50 divorces. This makes it look like 50% of marriages are ending in divorce, but hopefully you know more about statistics than that.

Odin made some valid points. I think the same-sex marriage issue can wait. If same-sex marriage shouldn't exist, then why should hetero? I vote Odin for president.
