Marks out of 100.

It allows a greater degree of accuracy

My neighbour likes marks out of 10 even though I tried to explain that just because 2 games get 8/10, doesn't mean they are as good as each other.

Wow, it almost seems like the answer goes without saying, no? Almost.

Really? Certainly it can take you to high places, and perhaps to a lesser extent it can get you far, but I hardly think it's capable of doing both. Anyway, wherever you end up because of mathematics, I think proper English can get you there just as well.

PSXE's method has always been the most appealing method, because it allows for greater distinction between games. being able to give a game a 9.4 in graphics instead of wondering if you should kick it up to a ten or knock it down to a nine made my job here easier, and I personally feel it is more informative to the reader.

Just my two cents.

I agree with the whole 10.0/10.0 or 100% scale. I think that a game has to do something pretty much perfect to warrant a 10 so the decimals help to distinguish amongst those really high scoring games.

I like the percent rating too
Does anyone like the rating they do at www.gamerevolution.com?
(they give out letter grades for games)

GR's the shit. I used to talk to Johnny Liu, who used to write there, quite a bit; he's writing for PC Gaming World now, I think, and I saw him on CNN a couple weeks ago talking about Call of Duty and Prince of Persia. I felt sorry for him: I respect anybody who sticks their neck out to try to legitimize electronic entertainment, which is exactly what he was doing, but it was painfully clear that the anchor didn't take him seriously.
