God Mad at "The Passion Of Christ"?

Agreed - you'd think they would have been more careful about holding metal objects on a hill during stormy weather...

Voice, I'm not sure that anyone will be "pleasantly" surprised by this movie. Personally, I'm not really looking forward to watching it, but I definitely WILL watch it. The film has been designed to illustrate that we each had a hand in killing Christ; I doubt too many people will feel pleasant about that. Because I believe this to be a true premise, however, I'm completely behind the movie.

Lazer, maybe you should go see it BECAUSE you're Jewish. Christianity (as you probably know) is the belief that Jesus is the savior the Jews were promised in their scriptures (the same text that is the Christian Old Testament). I know people often say that the different religions of the world worship the same god (which is patently false), but in the case of Jews and Christian, it is true. Furthermore, many Jewish leaders are expressing their disgust with this movie; it seems to me that the Jewish population would want to see the movie to decide for themselves.

I'm interested to see how the movie turns out after all the controversy surrounding it with the accusations about it being Anti-Semetic and all although I'm not sure why any Christian would be angry at the Jews for killing Christ, after all the whole religion is based around the belief that he died for our sins and then subsequently rose from the dead (I'm not sure if I personally believe it, but that's not the point). SOMEONE had to kill him or it would have been a bit hard for him to die for our sins...

Excellent point, Cowboy. I don't know of a single Christian who blames the Jews for killing Christ. We realize it was each of our faults, and we realize it would have done little good for humanity if he had established himself as a mortal king on earth, only to succumb to death without resurrection.
