While I do realize it was nothing but a joke, and that Triumph is an insult dog, he really shouldn't have gotten involved into our problems. America says that Canada doesn't matter to them repeatedly, then stay out of our shit, please. We have enough Canadian people stirring shit up, and we don't need Americans to do the same.

Things at this moment are very touchy (with the whole Cherrygate), and it was misplaced. Triumph's jokes were just incredibly badly timed, tasteless (though that's nothing new), and he just ended showing up the problem that plagues the country: we hate our own guts for some reason.

I'm not taking it too seriously, but I'm not taking it lightly either. I would just love seeing Triumph do the same to Jews and black people in the US. Of course, it will never happen, since the consequences would be terrible. He had a great chance of laughing at a minority in Canada and he grabbed it, and the consequences will be minimal. It's in that light in particular that the jokes offend me, and it's not because I'm part of the minority that he's aiming in question. I have no problem with people laughing at my ethnicity if it's done with taste, just as I laugh at other ethnics with taste. Except it wasn't done with taste, and I know that he wouldn't have the guts to attempt the same thing in his own country. What a sad opportunist. And it saddens me, since I respect Conan and company as entertainers.

But I think we've wasted enough time debating that crap in Canada. He won't apologize (I'm not saying he should, I only want to see him do the same visible minorities in his own country). Until then, I'm afraid I have to consider them a bunch of coward sacks of shit, and to leave it at that.

PS : At least we get offended to substantial stuff, as opposed to silicon teats down south.

Plenty of irrational hatred, basically (similar to that found by the audience when Conan mentionned Quebec = Seperatists - or something to that extent). He just wrote it to get banned.

I'll summarize it briefly :
