Ya, I've seen those ones NIRVANARULZ, there's one downside to their location. Sure it's only about an hours drive from where I live, but I want to have a mechanic that I know and trust to check it out, and it's highly unlikely that any seller will let me drive it all the way back to where I live, get the vehicle inspected ($50-90 CDN
) and then drive it all the way back out....But I have been considering that one on the bottom.I haven't really considered a 300GT. Those are nice cars, quite sporty, but the majority of those auctions are "reserve not met" at the prices they're sitting at, are very likely to go way higher in price, and have much higher mileage than I would like. But thanks for the suggestion, I'm gonna keep a lookout for those around here (although I've looked online for those things around here, only ones that turned up were around $14,000, WAY out of my price range)... The Accord's do have big appeal to me in terms of passanger seating, reliability, and fuel economy. Quote:

Stay away from the supra because of the upkeep....they have lots of problems from what I've heard.

Well, I've done some work in a tuner/drifter shop, and a 240 SX is a double-edged sword in my opinion.
Personaly, I think the style and look of the considerably older (by today's standards) car is just awesome. Looks great, and if you're into upgrading and drifting crap ( not talking about 4 foot aluminum wings on a Dodge Neon ) then a 240 is a nice buy for $3000 area, with those circumstances listed. However, with the mileage you have, the pistons tend to go out, and they're a bitch to repair/replace. Get ready for some serious maintanence work. I personaly drive a 94 Honda Accord EX as my daily driver, and the car is just spectacular for the price ($4000 area) and quality. Honda's are great, with the mileage at about 85-90 k, just replace the timing belt and you're good to go another 50 k no question. Next to my 5th Gen Prelude, this car is one of my favorites that I have driven because its newer-ish, reliable, and yes you can put a wing on em if you want to get made fun of.

Go to Autobytel.com and search for a 3000GT there. The prices they go for are great: you may even find a nice 3000GT for about 1700-2100 ($US)

I dont think it would be smart to buy a sports car. Old Supras can turn into money pits.

Yeah....much better off with a mid-size economy.

Thanks for your input guys. You make a very valid point Shirt (and Voice). I am starting to lean more towards the economy sedan (ie. Honda Accord). You just can't beat the reliability of those vehicles, they run forever (you pay for it though, most of the time...). The older sports cars like what I've been considering are nice, but as a few people have mentioned, I guess you'll be running into more problems - although I've heard the 240sx engine can last forever....
I checked out autobytel.com Arnold, nothing in the vicinity of my area (northern Washington).I would LOVE to get one of these things - it's a shame that they're INSANELY rare and difficult to find...I'd so turn that thing into the Back To The Future DeLorean!! ![]() ![]()
