For all intensive purposes, yes. DDR is the best. Rambus is ages ahead of DDR in terms of core clock speeds, but they have too many internal company problems with royalities and such to be a legitimate medium. That and you'll find no socket A motherboards that even support RDRAM.

DDR400 PC3200 is probably the best.
And you would want the Corsair Ram, they have the best ram. The one i want to get is probably the best, though there is PC3700, i personally don't like it because it runs at a higher NS (Nano-Seconds) rate. Basically PC3200 is more open for overclocking and it's faster. Also soon to be released is PC4000 if i'm not mistaken. I'll probably be getting the 2x1gb Platinum Corsair PC3200 DDR400 Dual Channel Ram. My motherboard is perfectly designed for that ram, i have the Asus P4C800 Deluxe which is designed with dual channel ram. I personally like Nvidia, if you want to go with ATI you can go with them.
