anyone here a michael chrichton fan?
i loved this book it was my favorite, (that is untill i found the lord of the rings.)
The movie trailers look really good.

I do like Timeline, I knew somebody had bought the movie rights but I wasn't aware they had actually started working on it. Any idea on when it'll be out?

In an Arizona desert a man wanders in a daze, speaking words that make no sense. Within 24 hours he is dead, his body cremated by his only known associates. Halfway around the world archaeologists make a shocking discovery at a medievel site. Suddenly they are swept off to the headqurters of a secretive multinational coproration that has develeped an astounding technology. Now this group is about to get a chance not to study the past but to enter it. And with history opened to the presnt, the dead awakened to the living, these men and woman will soon find themsleves fighting for thier survival-600 years ago.

it is a very good book
i suggest it to anyone

It's basically about time travel, or the parallel-universe-hopping equivalent. A group of archaeologists go back in time to medieval France on a rescue mission, and naturally there are some unfortunate and unexpected events that make everything all the more complicated. It's a very good book.

Very good book, as are pretty much all of Chrichton's books, but I have doubts about the movie, especially since they got Paul Walker one of the worst actors in Hollywood to play the lead. Looks like another poor movie adaptation of a Chrichton book. The only movie based on one of his books that I've seen that was worth a damn is the first Jurassic Park.

Agreed, though I also liked Thirteenth Warrior. Then again I haven't read the book it's based on so I had nothing to judge it against...

I wouldn't suggest reading the book it's based on. I found it to be one of his few misfires. Then again, I also thought that the movie was horrible so maybe you'll like the book.
