Question But you say he's just a friend.

So.

Am I the only one in this situation?

Actually I seem to have gotten myself into this situation three times.

My best friend in the world is a girl. I love her with all my heart, we have known each-other for like 7 years. Nobody knows me as well as she does, and nobody knows her as well as I do.

I am so afraid that if I explained to her just how much I love her, that she would get scared and not want to be friends with me anymore. So I don't say anything.

I would rather just be friends and have her in my life, than try for more and end up not being around her at all.

this isn't TV...and I was kind of hoping we could keep this as a serious topic.

Why not subtly trick her into telling you how much she favors your company instead? I don't know how you would do that personally, but I'm sure one of the creative minds around here can come up with something...

My advice is to tell her and to tell her as quickly as possible. The longer you wait the deeper you slip into the "friend zone," which--and I speak from personal experience--is hard to break free from.

What you need to ask yourself is this: are you really satisfied with your current relationship? My guess is that the answer is no, and if I'm right then you don't really have a choice.

well....she did fly from WA. on september 11th to KS. and visit me for 5 days.....just this past sept. 11th.

I don't know...I want to tell her, but I don't want to tell her until I am back in WA. to live there...

In the meantime I can't stop thinking about her ever since she came to visit...even moreso than before she came out.

Long distance? When are you heading back to WA? If not anytime soon, don't bother. You will only set yourself up. See, if you've never made out with her, fooled around with her, seriously flirted with her, talked about having a relationship with her, or anything that would foreshadow at future events...then good chance is that once you tell her how much you like her, she may play the "I don't want to lose you" card. It's a very powerful card and only the most cunning (me) can swerve it.

You say you've known her for 7 years? Well, then...casually talk to her about going out. Don't pour your feelings out, trust me. Say something on the lines of "hey, have you ever thought about us being a couple?" You have to be very relaxed about it too. Don't come off as if you're asking her out, because what you're doing is checking for her reaction. If she says "no" or "not really", you quickly change range and agree..."yeah, it's weird, neither have I."

God, it rocks being single.

God! I was just like you except 4 years for now. I have a girlfriend now, she was my friend in past 2 years. I liked her so much, I don't know how to tell I loved her and cared for her. So, one day, why not tell her, God knows that I loved her, so with all my heart, I say I love you very quietly and she began to cry a little and I say what's wrong and I mean it and she sayed say it a little bit louder, and with all my heart I LOVE YOU, and the angel kissed me right away.....haaaa! my fisrt kiss, we were playing Mario Kart on snes when I was scared saying the word "L".

Try Voice, you'll never know.
