Well, it ocurred to me that maybe PSXE should venture into a new layout. That is, considering this layout has been in effect for more than 2 years(at least) . Just a thought.

And for that thought i thought up a new layout that would be cool, but i dunno if anyone you guys have on the layout or team would know how to do it.

My thoughts:

Get the site done in flash format. That way you could potentially, for each system(PS2, PS1) make that the site. Heres what im thinking. (its hard to explain)
PS2: (PS1 would be similar)
The Power button is the enter button. Then, after pushing the power button it turns into the "browser mode". From there you have your choices of where youd want to go(navigation) You can still animate (with flash) the spheres that go in motion just like the ps2 when its loading. Then you can have what other layout youd like, integrated into this. THen the site would have some animation to compliment the content. I think it might add a little kick into the site's layout. It could even, potentially, entice more people to look at the site.

You could also do it another way i thought of, but id let you guys see if you even liked this suggestion.

No offense but your thoughts would make PSXExtreme a horrible place.

For one, the average amount of people still don't have braodband and for that they do not like flash. Also flash is the worst type of website build you would never want on a website this big. NOT even IGN or GameSpot has ever done that.

Two, sometimes people without flash hate downloading flash just to view a site or maybe a link for some information.

Three, PSXExtreme.com would have a dramatic decrease in traffic or the amount of visitors that view their website.

So as for this opinion is a defenite NO!

PSXE is fine the way it is bro.... Flash sites are cool and all, but some people hate them... And it's a 56Gay's worst nightmare.

My site incorporates flash into it. It's main navigation is a flash menu. Plus, I have my little mascot is in a flash animation in the right corner. Point? Flash is ok when you want to add interactivity to perk up the asthetics of your web designs, incorporating it with HTML. It's also a good idea for an online portfolio site that's supposed to show how good you are with flash, in case if you are a designer of sorts. If the site is relatively small, then it's ok. If you're like this place, appealing to a world wide audience, then it's a bad idea to even think of having it all in a flash file. It's a real bitch to keep sites like that updated. Even for broadband, it could take too long to load it. That's why if you think of flash with large sites, you use it at your advantage, like to make the site look nice. Graphic flash files aren't very big, and take only secs to load. So unless you know some good action scripting, I suggest staying away from the flash site idea. Flash only for design.

Here's a nice example of a good flash site. This site was made by a busy guy that happens to be a highschool dropout. Not that it's a bad thing; at least he's working with what he loves.

like i said, i don't dislike the site as it is now. I just put up an idea. Obviously you don't like it. That's fine. I agree with Gamer_X, you could just ad some flash in the corners.
