Yo, just wondering if anybody here reads much. I know I've spoken with Mav Shaw briefly about books but I don't remember seeing it discussed any other times. So if you read then why not post your favourite books here? Might even be able to get some book conversation going...
My favourite series include: Terry Pratchett's Discworld Novels - Fantasy & Humour Michael Crichton Fiction - Sci-Fi/Thriller Clive Cussler's NUMA Files - Action/Thriller Robin Jarvis - Very weird Fantasy Bernard Cornwell's The Grail Quest - Historic Fiction Matthew Reilly - Action The Harry Potter books by JK Rowling - Fantasy Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings - Fantasy An individual book I'm a big fan of is 'Quest For Lost Heroes' by David Gemmel, very cool. So come on y'all, what do you read? |

Unfortunatley I have never read a full length novel. NEVER.
Its not something i'm proud of it's just reading never seems to interest me. I read magazines a lot but I never read books. Except for one special book by the name of Lord Of The Rings. I am reading that at the moment, This is my first full length novel and i'm enjoying it to bits. ![]()

I enjoy reading:
Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan A Song of Fire and Ice series by George R. R. Martin Sorrow, Memory, and Thorn series by Tad Williams Most books by Michael Crichton (especially Jurassic Park 1-2, Great Train Robbery, and Timeline) Redwall books by Brian Jacques Harry Potter series by hmm... forgot her name, er.. not J.K. Rowling I want to start reading: Otherworld Series by Tad Williams and some fantasy series by a guy who's first name is Terry and his last name is Gooding or something. It looked good. On a strange side note, I read LOTR in seventh grade and found it quite boring, on the last book I quit reading it. I intend to read it again because I love the movies (alot) and because everyone says it is so good. I know it's good, I just have to get around to reading it. |

I read a crap load. It kind of becomes second nature since I was an English major and had to read all day to keep up with classes. However, I also want to be a writer so it is always good to see what others are doing.
Some of the best books I've read are: 1984 (best book of all time) Catcher in the Rye Fareinheit 451 Watership Down Suffer the Children Einstein's Dreams Fight Club Also I think Kurt Vonnegut is one of the best writers of all time and would recommend Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse Five, Timequake, Galapagos, Cat's Cradle or The SIrens of Titan. ALso, you an't go wrong with Harry Potter books. They are actually very enjoyable for all ages. Finally, since i'm a nerd I like to read books on science, biology, physics and philosophy. There are always cool books writer by professors and doctors like "The Science of star Wars" or "The Philosophy of Seinfeld." They are educational and fun to read. I just finished reading "E=mc2" which is a biography of the formula. It was easy to read and still interesting. I always have lots to read and buy 5 or 6 books at a time. It is almost a bad habbit since I always have way more books than I can read. Up next is "The Grapes of Wrath" and "The Dubliners".
