Yes, we should go to war. Saddam needs to be taken out.

Stop irak from what exactly? What did they attack in the last 10 years, after the war, other than unmanned ships? Nothing. They obviously killed their own civilians, but such is the case in any dictatorships. They most likely developped/bought weapons, but by what means have they threatened the US in the last 10 years? Do they have any way of reaching the US at all, or any 'occidental' country other than Israel or Russia? I doubt Scud missiles have enough power to reach North America, or even Europe (though someone could prove me wrong here).

Now, let's see what Ossama did. He attacked American Embassies. He destroyed the Twin Towers. He has multiple cells of terrorists in MANY occidental countries, and his organization influences pretty much every terrorist organisation that shares his cause. What's more is that he is becoming a spiritual icon.

Not Saddam. Saddam is a dictator, with no link whatsoever to religion. He may have 'mass destruction weapons' but just how would he attack the US with them? Other than using existing terrorist organizations, I don't know.

And what confirms you that Saddam's replacement will be any good? Don't you guys remember Iran?

I'm not against kicking Saddam out at all, especially now that the process of doing so is quite established. But I am quite sure that there are worse threats than him in this world, and that they are harder to remove. Hence why Saddam was put into focus. As a target he and his army are far less elusive than terrorist organisations are.

Simply speaking, NO - we should not go to war with Iraq.

Unfortunately, nothing is simple. Bush has flapped his jaw so long about fighting this war that if the US were to back down now, we would lose a lot of credibility (every runt nation in the world would know they could walk all over us without worry of real retaliation).

I don't think we have any business sticking our political nose in other countries' politics, period.

In this instance, I believe the UN security council has proven just how week and useless they really are. But the bottom line is that a war without support will NOT end well for us. I'm not saying we'll be defeated outright. It will be all the indirect consequences we will pay as a result of the war.

And I agree with those of you who have said that oil is a main reason for this conflict. A better usage of the 10 Billion it will cost to fight this war would be to throw it at Fuel Cell development (along with a way to produce hydrogen that doesn't require a massive energy source, such as burning hydrocarbons/oil).

We're in too far now, though. This will not end well, I'm afraid.

If it's not done, Saddam will be the first to laugh, and the only winner.

Yes, I feel we need to go to war. War is never something that you really WANT to do, but at this point it's something that we NEED to do. I believe that if we don't attack Iraq then they will attack us, and no one wants that. I also feel that Korea is an issue that needs be dealt with at some point, although doing so could very well start WWIII, which wouldn't be good at all, especially since it'd be people of my generation fighting it.

Colin Powell, did a masterful job laying out the evidence of Iraqi deception vis-a-vis the United Nations. But, in all seriousness, did anyone seriously doubt that Hussein was being less than forthcoming when it concerned WMDs and proscribed missile delivery systems ? There was an element of the surreal to the entire affair at the UN Security Council.

On another note, It's amusing the way some on the left act as though France is motivated by purely humanitarian considerations. France and Russia were the two major powers responsible for the breakdown of the previous inspection regime and are two of the leading oppositionists to forcible regime-change in Iraq.

Both are motivated, in significant part, by commercial considerations.

Part of me would love to see a future free Iraq rescind all oil development contracts with French firms and repudiate all debt owed to France. The cheese-eating surrender-monkeys deserve no less.

America's animosity to people with different points of view never ceases to amaze me. They may act like idiots (they are), but they are not your enemies.

It was like a deal a loooong time ago, humanitarian aid, money etc for oil. But bad stuff happend and the deals were haulted, no oil for france but iraq had the money...
