**************SPOILERS***************
i thought it was a great movie. slightly better than spiderman. the story line was alittle....well... not the great. it doesnt really explain how he became the daredevil. If you saw the movie, did you wait till the end of the credits? I heard there is a scene with bullseye showing that he didnt die. |

Pretty good movie, the critics were too harsh with it. The problem with it was the cheesy dialogue between Electra and Matt. "Stay with me...please", being repeated in this overly emotional tone really made me cringe from sheer pretentiousness. While the dialogue was a bit too full of itself, unlike Spider-Man's very warm and better executed speech, the action sequences and the special effects (including the sight through the eyes of Matt Murdock, the DareDevil himself) were quite exciting. Though, the lighting during some action portions of the movie were a bit too dark to really be able to notice what was going on. Also, the playground fight-scene with Jennifer Garner was laughable, and induced another one of those cringing moments.
DareDevil was able to regain itself because of its action, and Affleck's appreciable role as the man of justice. If you can look past some of the cheesy dialogue and forget about that stupid playground fight-scene, you'll enjoy DareDevil. The movie is a good pop-corn flick, though definitely not of the same caliber as Spider-Man. |

No I take back what I said...it wasn't a good movie. If the comic book never existed, I'd say DD was pretty good. But, seeing as how this is a comic book movie, ultimately, in order to stand up it needs to be compared to its comic book counterpart. This is where the movie completely fails.
The movie doesn't adapt the comic book properly, at all! There were so many things wrong it isn't even funny. The ending...we see Kingpin, and whoah (!) two seconds later DareDevil somehow manages to make his way up a 100 story building all the way from another area in the city. He's a superhero, sure. But he's not Flash. They needed something in between there. That felt VERY rushed. The movie wasn't handled as properly and carefully, like Spider-Man was. DareDevil is ultimately, a watered down, diluted, made for the mainstream-**** you hardcore losers, kind of audience. Damn shame. This movie had potential to completely obliterate Spider-Man. And WHAT THE ****!!! What the hell happened to Sensei? Matt did NOT train himself to be a fighter. He had a sensei named Stick who helped him through his youth years. But seeing as how DareDevil was a noticeably rushed movie, it's not surprising how much key info they left out. Had they have added an extra 20 minutes to the movie, it would've been right up there with X-Men, AT LEAST. But alas, DareDevil fans were shortchanged and robbed. The movie is void of any true comic book substance. Such a shame. |

X-Men was the only movie of the comic book series that stayed as close as possible true to the comic book. Spider-Man had a few flaws itself. Didn't Peter Parker create his own web since he was a scientist. Also i think it was weird how spiderman just got his suite. Action is Spider-Man was way too weak and the wait of atleast 40min just to see Spider-Man in his suite was stupid. But still i would say that Spider-Man is slightly by a margin better then DareDevil sicne DareDevil had a pretty bad script.
X-Men is the best of all 3 and X-Men 2 looks even better then the 1st i can't wait to see it. Also the Hulk looks really nice can't wait to see that.

X-Men wasn't very close to the original either. Spider-Man was 95% spot on, while X-Men was around 50%, and DareDevil was 40%. Spider-Man was a MUCH better developed movie than either of the two. Peter Parker never had web-cartidges. In the original comic book published way back when, Spidey gained the superhuman ability to shoot web from his wrists. Later on in the 80s, it was remixed a little bit, and Parker created cartridges.
You do not understand how practically flawless Spider-Man was in terms of comic book comparison. There was perhaps one or two MINOR nuisances in the plot, but damn me if I wasn't amazed at how precise the movie turned out. I can guarantee that The Hulk will suffer the same fate. It will not stay true to the comic book origin. |

I had this gut feeling that DD would suck. Still I want to see it, but seeing as how I've just picked up reading DD (been reading Spidey for a while now) I may just stick to reading the comics of The Man Without Fear.
X-Men was an OK movie but it strayed far and way from the comic book origins. Now Spider-Man was like Arnold said, 95% spot on. I love this movie. Sure they changed things up a bit but it was still an amazing film. It wasn't just the fighting and the special effets either. It was the moral of what Spider-Man is all about. It's a bout a nerdy teenager who gets some fantastuc powers and then screws up big time when he could have used them responsibly. Realizing the power in the words from his dead uncle "with great power, comes great responsibility" he becomes a highly responsible young man. That's one of the things I've always liked about Spidey; the message he brings with him. He's all about responsibility and make the world a better place.
