"I say, old chap, would you mind flying through that mushroom cloud and telling us what it's like? For England."

"Not a problem, my man."

Later on:

"I hate to be a bother, my good man, but I do seem to keep coming down with cancer. Any chance of Her Majesty's government sending a bit of money my way?"

"Afraid not, old sport. You're not really any more cancerous than all the people we didn't nuke. Just keep a stiff upper lip and you'll get through it, what?"

True story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/0/20105140

Quote:
That morning he and his crew had watched Britain's biggest nuclear bomb explosion. They had then deliberately flown their plane through the radioactive mushroom cloud it created.

Their job was to measure how successful the explosion had been.

People often accidentally use the nonsensical phrase 'sneak peak' when they mean 'sneak peek', and somebody has set up a Twitter bot called Stealth Mountain that sends a message correcting users any time they make that mistake. If somebody replies their response gets saved here and it's quite amusing seeing how angry people get. The best are those people who clearly don't understand how public Twitter is, getting angry that the bot has somehow got onto their Twitter mentions.

The reviews for this banana slicer are a little unusual, at least until you see the product images.

What do you do if your magazine tasks you with writing a five-page interview on Megan Fox? If you're anything like Stephen Marche you'll go crazy, making her out to be the last of a dying breed of movie bombshells and seriously typing lines like "Megan Fox is not an ancient Aztec". What's even weirder is how both Marche and Fox are coming up with this bizarre nonsense and yet they agree with one another.

"Being famous is worse than being bullied at school."

"Of course it is, of course it is. You're basically like an Aztec sacrifice."

"That's exactly what it's like! You know what? Bigfoot, leprechauns, voodoo, aliens guiding the human race: All real."

"Well, Jennifer's Body is a criminally underrated parable."

Every reason David Banner hulked out in the old TV series, including:
Quote:
20. Dealing with a pesky operator in a phone booth ("I DON'T HAVE TWENTY-FIVE CENTS!!!")

40. Falling into the churning water of a boathouse, and then inexplicably being repeatedly carried over the paddlewheel (this one is stranger than 39)

98. Crawling through the sensitive, highly dangerous electrical service tunnel for no apparent reason, only to accidentally kick several of the electrical cables loose and flailing around near the hot water pipes so that he can be practically electricuted and fried at the same time

107. Tied up by the Japanese mob in San Francisco and thrown in his bathtub with the shower blasting scalding hot water on him (why he doesn't simply get out of the tub is a mystery)

IBM creates "smallest" movie by moving, and filming, thousands of individual atoms.
