I know you, McLaren. In all seriousness, I know several. My friends have dubious musical tastes.

Snake, visually the game looks good, yes. Final Fantasy games usually do. But from what I've seen of the game Yuna in particular comes across as a completely different person. She clearly hasn't aged much since FFX ended, but she's changed. As Ryan pointed out elsewhere there's what appears to be horrendously sloppy continuity issues, I can't see how they're going to explain away some of the things that are back in the game, it makes no sense. Of course FFX wasn't any good at explaining itself either, so maybe they're just going to ignore the holes.

Square's attitude nowadays is worrying, they seem to be abandoning everything that people valued about the franchise. Ryan, if you do ever meet Hironobu Sakaguchi then I hope you behave fittingly

Explain what? This is Final Fantasy. And remember, FFX is a bit of a dream like experience...Tidus traveling years into the future, then returning to a long destroyed Zanarkand. Come on, they'll explain it, and they'll do a damn good job doing so.

Tidus didn't just travel into the future, he wasn't even real. The Fayth were dreaming him and everybody else in Tidus' Zanarkand. Somehow Jecht (also not real) crossed over into the real world, became Sin, returned to Dream Zanarkand and brought Tidus into the real world. But Tidus still only existed in the Dream of the Fayth, and they've stopped dreaming. Then you've got Auron, who died in Spira but didn't fade aware or noticably die at all, and who then managed to enter Dream Zanarkand and watch over Tidus, then crosses back when Jecht Sin appears in Dream Zanarakand. None of that makes sense, and wasn't explained in FFX, there wasn't even any attempt to explain it.

I found FFX real flat, lacking in the usual depth of story that I expected of FF. Then Square announce a sequel, basically saying FFX was so messed up and senseless that they need to go back and try and make some sense of it. That's just not good enough.

Can i say something or will i just get beat??

Id loved to beat the living crap out of anyone who comes off one of those pop idol or pop stars shows. They just piss me off so much!! Especially if their first 3 songs are covers, not looking at anyone in particular (Will Young, if you wanted to know)

And Sweet Tooth i couldn't agree more

As opposed to the small ones.

But I digress. I have no doubt that you're perfectly presentable and articulate in person.

With respect to your question, I've compiled a list of some of my favorite bands. (I dabble in rap too, but I'll limit my discussion to rock for the purposes of the thread, and for brevity's sake.) They include:

Nirvana
Radiohead
Smashing Pumpkins
Rage against the Machine
Sonic Youth
A Perfect Circle
Tool
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Cake
Dropkick Murphys
Foo Fighters
NIN
Weezer
Stabbing Westward
Sublime

A caveat: I'm sure I'll re-read this later today and kick myself for not including a given band, but these are the ones that come to mind at the moment; moreover I've intentionally omitted bands that are so universally adored--Andrew W.K., Lizimp Bizizkit, KoRn, Avril Lavigne--that their mention would be superfluous.
