He ruined any chance of any other white rappers havin their own image IMO. Eyedea is wayy better, he won Blaze Battle 2000 and prolly could have gotten on any label. Whoever objects to Eyedea being the best freestyler is a moron, but as a rapper I still think he has the best shit... But that is all opinion... Freestylin is whoever tears into the other worse, and Eyedea seems to do that the best. But he stayed with RSE b/c he didn't want to givee in to the fame and get all MTVed up... I never saw Eminem object to that. Em does have some sick rhymes.. The only reason I kind of like him is b/c I saw him on some interview and he was talking about all his songs you hear on MTV and said... "When I want to make hit I write it, spit it, and if I am sick of it after listening to it twice... I know it will be a hit" Or he said somehting along those lines.

One Eminem song where he talks about all the fame and all that is "The Way I Am". At least he still rhymes about whatever the hell he wants and doesn't come out with this ***** rap like Ja Rule. I'm not saying he's the best ever or anything or that he's the god of rap. I'm just saying I like him. Another rapper I'm getting kind of tired of is Nelly. I hate this southern word BS. what the hell are you guys saying? Air Force One is a retarded frigin song. every word ends with ERRR. Slammin in my ERR Force Ones, give me two PERRR, blah blah blah. Shut the hell up!

Just making sure, Shirt. My thoughts:

Bryan's raw hatred: Come on, say something!
Bryan's mind: No, there isn't any point.
Raw hatred: What are you talking about?
Mind: He does it to himself.
Raw hatred: What difference does that make?
Mind: I'd be wasting my breath.
Raw hatred: The hell with wasting your breath! Insult him!
Mind: Come on--"tits on a nun?" What can I possibly add to that?
Raw hatred: I think you owe it to yourself to drive the point home.
Mind: Hey, we promised to never denigrate anyone who spells the word "you" incorrectly again, remember?
Raw hatred: That was different!
Mind: How?
Raw hatred: Ar2detwo was subhuman.
Mind: Are you sure nice shirt is a different person?
Raw hatred: Not entirely.
Mind: Honestly, I just don't see the point. Anyway if he listens to death metal the words would fall on deaf ears. Literally.
Raw hatred: Just to be safe. Tell him.
Mind: Whatever...
Raw hatred: Do it!
Mind: Fine.

You're an idiot.

That was gold!

But Bryan, it's pretty ignorant to say that Metallica falls under "they have no sense of melody, no sense of rhythm, no sense of creativity. Take three seven strings, tune them low, write 'lyrics' about death and mutilation, and presto!" While I do agree that all of the death metal bands you listed do practice what was aforementioned, Metallica has incredible flow, riffs, melody, creativity and rhythm.

Well, to clarify, I wasn't likening Metallica to death metal. I realize they belong to an entirely different genre, but James' lyrics are outrageously bad...musicians aren't poets, but the good ones at least have some intuitive sense of prosody--Hetfield doesn't. To quote "Enter Sandman:"

"heavy thoughts tonight / and they aren't of snow white / dreams of war, dreams of liars / dreams of dragon's fire / and of things that will bite"
--Honestly. To begin it's rhythmically awkward, and the line "and of things that will bite" is just ridiculous.
"Hush, little baby, don't say a word / and nevermind that noise you heard"
--Ditto. The pause between "that" and "noise" typifies his lyrical awkwardness.

This notwithstanding, I will credit Metallica's sound. Most of the time it's polished and their original bassist was visionary--honestly, in spite of my distaste for them, I grant that they have the capacity to generate some pretty pleasing riffs. I just don't think their playing was especially virtuous or original. Like I said, Black Sabbath did it better, and they did it first.

I just completely agreed with what he said about death metal. He mainly put it into the words I never could.

Oh please. Have you seen FFX-2? The game looks sensational! Improved battle system. Job system, a'la FFVI. Sharper graphics. Improved voice acting. If the fact that the game stars three women with bare clothing bothers you, that's pretty weak, especially because you can change their clothing and Yuna's outfit in FFX was more revealing.

The game looks ace! Like it or not, this game will own, and I'll be first to confirm so later in March when I get my import.
