Default Sooo...I know why Gambit was excluded from X2

Yeah, yeah, you're sick of my Gambit threads, piss off. I was digging around and I found out this:

Quote:
Are you trying to keep track of all the comic book characters that might appear in X-Men 2? The school invasion scene has the potential for a multitude of mutant cameos. E! Online’s Anderson Jones revealed two things you will not be seeing in X-Men 2.

Jones answered a reader’s e-mail and confirmed that the Legacy virus and fan favorite Gambit will not be appearing in X2. Jones said, "the Legacy virus, as you noted, will not make an appearance. Nor, sadly, will the beloved Gambit--not even in several planned montages of mutants."

Jones said, "My guess is that the filmmakers decided that a character like Gambit--with a fan base like his, not to mention the ability to electrify playing cards--deserved his own film." Jones’ X-men scoops come from a pretty reliable source. Two of his best friends Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty wrote the script to X-Men 2.
First off: the several planned montages included: Jubilee, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Siryn, Beast, Pyro, and of course, Gambit. Jubilee made a brief cameo. Colossus made a notable cameo (WTF! He should've got more screen time! ). Nightcrawler was in throughout the whole film and so was Pyro. Beast was cut out. Siryn was the girl who yelled at the top of her lungs - brief cameo. Gambit got totally shafted just like Beast did.

James Bamford was signed, and reported by MANY notable sites and news organizations, to star in X2 as Gambit. His appearance was scrapped altogether. I highly doubt he had any scenes to start with, so there go my prayers of cut scenes for the DVD featuring him. On another note, the second bolded portion of my quote gets me all giddy and happy on the inside, while another part tells me not to get my hopes up. Either way, if they make a Gambit movie; I'm there. Mark my words. First in line. I WILL be there.

I'm going to have to keep an eye out for David Hayter at E3 and talk to him about Gambit for the 3rd X-Men movie. I think I'm done now.

This is James Bamford btw:

HAH! They DID film a part of Gambit in X2! OMG! OMG!

Quote:
X2: Recent press screenings have revealed that 'Gambit' and 'Beast' do cameo in some way in the sequel though not as originally planned or expected. Whilst a 'Dr. Hank McCoy' (aka. Beast) does appear visually in a TV interview talkshow segment in a bar scene, the 'Gambit' cameo in that scene looks to have been lost - instead keen viewers will see the name 'Remy LeBeaux' during a scene where Mystique searches Deathstrike's database. What is known is that the 'Gambit' visual cameo WAS filmed with actor James Bamford in the role - Bamford recently spoke about his work which we will hopefully see on the DVD: "I was given the part as Gambit by the director, basically for my look. I was working on the show as Wolverine's stunt double for rehearsals, and I was called in to be looked at for Gambit. I was on set the next day shooting the scene. I could not continue to double Wolverine on film because of a rehearsal injury. The scene that I was involved in as Gambit took only one day to shoot. It was a very small part, a cameo. There are no photos that I have from the film to give out, sorry. I did not do any screen test or audition, as I mentioned before, the director just looked at me and picked me. I have no contract for the next film, and I am sure that they will recast the character with a better known actor. If the next one shoots in Vancouver again, there is a good chance that I will work on it though, in some other capacity". Finally, loads of clips are up at Yahoo Movies and pics from the UK premiere are up at icLiverpool. Thanks to 'The Brood', 'Robert', 'Aingeal' & 'Olaymains'.

I want to see Apocalypse & Gambit in X3.
Also any of you heard that they might make a seperate Wolverine movie, i'm guessing based on his self-titled popular Wolverine comic.
