My girlfriend already wants it. Big non-gamer, but she wants to lose some weight.

While this does not interest me any bit, I think it'll be a massive success - especially with the wii's target audience (soccer mom, non gamer ladies)... What do you guys think?

I played the Wii when I was in Montreal at a buds house. The fit machine looks interesting. But will there be a "Ankle strap" so you don't kick the pad into the TV? lol

I'm very excited because today the European RRP for the Wii Fit was announced and so some sites released them for pre-order. I've been waiting for this game to come out for MONTHS so I dug deep and ordered myself one! Dillon will be working the weekend it's released so guess who'll have the TV all to herself

Only downside is that they are £70 ($138) to buy in UK, but across the pond for you guys, apparently it's $70!! Is this right? Doesn't seem very fair to be charging us double the price?!

That aside though, if you consider that the price of a decent game is roughly £40, you're only paying £30 for a set of fairly hi-tec electronic scales.

As well as buying mine for the entertainment factor, I'm going to be using it to try and improve my balance (my balancing is bad due to knee injury) and also for trying to improve my general fitness.

I was going to ask if anyone's had a go, but it seems that it's coming out in the US later than the UK, that's a bit unusual!!?

I guess I'm resurrecting an old thread here... anybody else planning to get Wii Fit?

I missed this thread the first time round so no harm with the resurrection.

I thought I heard some "experts" claiming that there is no benefit from the Wii fit but surely logic would dictate that if it gets you jigging around then there must be a small exercise related health benefit, no matter how small.

I don't think it's something I'll consider getting.

just watched this, NOT what i expected.. very very funny.

its not officially a Nintendo advert, but it really really should be. basically the guy who did this (sarcastic Gamer) grew up with GTA, the dry humour is right up there.

if anything, this makes me want to play Wii Fit!

My mate loves it. Don't think she uses it seriously though, just as a competition tool with her mates/boyfriend.

I'm interested to see how the peripheral is utilised in other game types.
