Okay, so no matter what I do or how many threads I explore on other sites nothing has worked to get my NAT type of 2 for my PS3 connection. I did put my static IP into the DMZ of my router but that didn't work, it may be because I'm using an older Wireless G gateway that a Wireless N router piggybacks off of, but the DMZ in the old gateway only lets me put in computers it detects and at the moment it detects none. I can play online but I think with some games it causes problems and I really want that NAT 2.
Direct connect for a NAT 1 is not an option at this point. Can anybody offer advice? Oh yeah both Routers are Linksys, I can get more detailed with specs if that helps but even some generic advice will do at this point.

I don't know about your router, I had the same problem, if you can somehow manualy forward ports to the IP of your PS3 that will do it, the range I used I think was 80-56676.
I never got DMZ to work either. NAT 3 can mess up chat, thats the only problem I came across Last edited by Darth Koth; 02-18-2009 at 12:20 PM. |

I guess I could try the manual port forwarding, but DMZ seemed like the best option so I was trying to force it to work.

Ive also got a major problem with NAT type 3. Ive set a static IP for my PS3..done the portforwarding thing...have the uPnP enabled...i dont know what else to do.
This definitely affects games in GTA4 online and Little Big Planet. LBP is more annoying as one of the trophies is complete a level with three friends in you friends list...kind of impossible when you cant connect to them. It says go to media molecule website for help....but there isnt any... SO please guys help me out!! Thanks. |

What are your down/up speeds for your connection? Do you have any other issues when connecting to the internet? Did you try any of the suggestions that Shadow posted above (post 5)?
