OK, somebody I speak with elsewhere has got himself a network adapter but he can't get it to work, and I'm clueless about the whole thing so I thought I'd ask here. Here's what he said:
'i have cable'. 'I have Socom: US Navy Seals. I bought a GO-net network adaptor. I did the connection settings and then when i go to "test connection" it sit there for like 5 minutes and says it cant connect. Any help will be apreciated.' I haven't a clue what to suggest or if there's more info you'd need, so feel free to offer some advice.. |

Oops, you're right Lazer. When I was posting it I thought to myself 'Well there's no Online Forum, so it should go in General'. Completely forgot about Help Line, my bad...
Jumbo or somebody else, is there any more advice you can give than simply replacing the Adapter? I would assume that he'd want to know why it's going wrong, not being official isn't a valid reason for it not working. I'll pass the advice along though Jumbo, thanks.. |

it is kind of a reason.
'cause none of the online games are suppoused to work with any of the 3rd party modems. well. there must be a way to get around that but i think that buying the original NA is the best way to go... unless :unless it's not his adapter not working properly but his connection or router (if he uses one). make sure he checks all that! that might be a reason for his stuff not workin too!: ask him for more details, we'll try to help. |

What details should I ask him for though Jumbo? I have no idea what to ask about because I've never gone online with PS2 myself. Any info you wish to know will be asked, but you'll need to tell me what to ask for..

shouldnt have bought 3rd party.
that being said, make sure all his other shit is hooked up properly, like jumbo said. when i first hooked up my router and shit, i think i had to shut everything off, then turn it all back on to get it to work. shoulda just been a plug and go sort of deal. but easiest fix would be to not skimp out on some 3rd party pos and just buy the official N/A.

Ya, it's a usb network adapter, right? I think those only work on old games like THPS3. Not on ones like Socom.
