I must admit, i should of levelled up a lil more than i have before reaching this point!

wont get a chance to have a go tonight, BG is playing Sonic on the Wii.. lol, im not going to get a look in!

but i will tomorrow, i'll try and level up more, and get those quickenings, cheers
Quickenings are all over the board, but like I said, they're usually in corners. And yeah, I'd strongly advise doing a bunch of Hunts and leveling up in between plot-advancing areas and battles.

lol, well yeh.... you see after i got through that big bit with Basch (first time you meet him etc etc) and rabbit girl and pirate guy, and when you complete that dungeon crawl, you come out on to the dessert yeh? basically you had to get back to town... well, instead of doing that straight away, i started to fight loads and i got up about five levels.. I was there for ages and ages, just fighting.

but I never saved!!!

feeling cocky i took on a turkey, it was a normal turkey, nothing unusual.. but this lil f**ker wouldnt die, and he wouldnt just forget i pissed him off. no, when i ran, he ran after me.. and one by one he killed us off.. untill it was me (Vaan) and the turkey, i couldnt get back to the crystal and i pegged it!

lost everything.

and that is why i raced through the next bit and now im now unprepared!!

no excuse.. I might just try and get back on level i think!! (insert disappoint smiley shaking his lil stupid face)

How do you know it was just a "normal turkey?" Are you sure it wasn't an optional enemy that you angered? They often look exactly like the other regular enemies...and if I remember correctly, there is a particularly tough Cockatrice out there in the sands. It may have been a Hunt, but I don't remember now.

That's one thing you have to look out for, though. All kinds of extremely dangerous enemies roam the lands, and if you don't save frequently, you can get decimated without knowing what happened. It's a good idea to have Libra on all the time so you can see what Lv. and how much HP each enemy has.

For example, Elementals tend to show up in outdoor areas where the weather is nasty (raining, snowing, sandstorm, etc.), and if you use ANY magic in their vicinity, they will attack you. In other words, even if you can Cure on yourself when within sight of an Elemental, it'll turn from neutral to aggressive. And they range from Lv. 25 to 45, so until you're a long way into the game, you HAVE to avoid them completely. It's just one of a few things you need to be wary of...

lol... it was one EVIL turkey, kept on using magic, and my strikes wernt hurting it at all.. I tried fire, but like you said Ben,if anything it pissed the turkey off even more! lol...

lol, it was bloody funny though, killer turkey on the loose!

i think whats more funny (n stupid) is that every time i see a warewolf thingy in Giza, for some STUPID reason i think i can kill them (two of em), because im a lil stronger than i was lasttime it ripped my head off!

so i go and save and then i die.. over and over!

at what level can you have a fair fight with those guys?

Stay away from the Werewolves. They can inflict instant death, so don't bother (they're not worth it, anyway).

But like I said, always have Libra on and you'll know what you're dealing with. Obviously, that was no normal Cockatrice. If you had had Libra on, you would've known what level it was and how many HP it had, and you would've realized you had to stay away. It probably was neutral to begin with and you haphazardly attacked it without looking. You'll soon learn to LOOK at an enemy before attacking.

do i need some sort of Gambit? thats the only way I can see how i can possibly make this work unless it's atuomatic.. and if it is, i dont think its working.. Hmmm

It's a Technick. If you've bought it AND learned it on the License board, you can use it by selecting Technicks in the menu on the battlefield and simply casting it. It'll wear off after a time, though, so be careful. It's real close to where you start in the upper right; the Technicks go right and down in the upper right portion of the board.

P.S. It shows you traps as well as the enemy info, so I say ALWAYS keep it on.
