I need help with Quickenings I just don't understand them 1. How does their damage work? 2. What's the R2 button thing for? (Yes I do have Video game problems)

For future reference, just go to GameFaqs and read a FAQ (they have an in-depth description of Quickenings). But real quickly-

The damage is random - unfortunately - although I believe there is a minimum and maximum amount of damage dealt depending on which Lv. Quickening you use. The R2 button is to shuffle your options if you don't have any. In other words, if you have more than one Quickening, you can form a chain, and your options are highlighted in white above the time bar during the execution of a Quickening. If there is no option (all grey), hit R2 until you see an option, which would be either a Quickening or Mist Charge.
