What could be the reason that you just seem to lose everything on your PS2 memory card all at once?
My kid said he just went to reset the machine, and after doing so, went to the memory card in slot one and had a 'no data' message when he tried to load. How is this possible...

If you reset the machine while the card was being accessed (saving/loading etc.) then it would probably wipe it. Other than that I can't think of any sure-fire reason why it would wipe.

If it's not an official Sony Memory Card they are known to lose there memory after a while.

I'm getting a friend from work to look at it tonight.
He will also be saving his FFX savegame for me if the card is okay. We just beat Seymour in the Gagazette Mountains and have not yet finished the game. It was very hard to lose that gamesave, because we had worked so long to build everything up. I'tll be alright...
