Uhh...Square never confirmed FFVII-2, let alone announce it!

There has been no official confirmation of sequels to any PSX FF game. Rumors have been going around about them due to Square's announcement that they currently have 20 projects ongoing, with only 9 of them being original games. In addition to that, the producer of FFX said he would like to see a sequel of VII, because he liked it so much. He never once stated that a sequel was actually in the works.

Besides, isn't it bad enough that we have to put up with the super whored out piece of trash that is FFX-2?

***SPOILERS***

I mean, for f**k's sake, in the original FFX, all the aeons die, Tidus, who was only a dream of the Fayth (who stopped dreaming) ceases to exist in Spira, and all the Ronso are executed by Seymour. Now, in this sequel, Tidus somehow comes back to life when he was never alive in the first place, the Aeons make a similarly miraculous return, and Khimari is the chief of the Ronso, a tribe that according to the first game no longer exists.

Yeah, that sounds wonderful. If that's the direction Square is taking, why would we want a sequel to VII?

I bet if FFX-2 does well there will be a FFVII-2. I think FFX-2 looks good. there is at least 4 Ronso left in Spira because at the end of the game if you went back to their mountain they were standing there. Don't know about Tidus and the Aeons though. Square will think of something!

I personally have no problems with Square doing sequels to Final Fantasy games. I wouldn't care if Square wanted to do one to everyone. As long as it's still a great game and better than most other RPG games, then I prefer sequels. I rather have Final Fantasy sequels than someother game that's not too good.

I wouldn't mind a sequel to FFVII although it's not announced. I wouldn't even mind if they wanted to make a whole new story with Barret, Yuffie, etc. All I care about is that it's a great game.

Ryan, where did you see the return of the aeons? I thought that this new "role assumption" mechanic was supposed to replace the aeons. In any case I can't wait for FFX-2. But the return of Tidus is a little odd. I mean, he never was even REAL.

First off welcome Garry and your english isn't bad. I've heard ALOT worse.

Now to your question. The whole FFVII-2 thing started when one of the head guys over at Square said, while he was commenting on FFX-2, that he would love to work on a sequel to Final Fantasy VII. Hell I'm not gonna argue with that, I would love to see a sequel to FFVII and I love the idea. Unfortunately the media took this and blew it up to make it seem like there was going to be one and that there is serious talk about it. I'm sure the idea has been thrown around ever since they got the sales numbers for FFVII. Now that FFX-2 is coming out there is a possibility for FFVII and I'm sure there's alot of talk going on about it but a major factor for FFX-2 is because FFX International left a lot of room for a sequel. FFVII on the other hand, while a sequel is possible, didn't quite leave open as many holes and FFX did and this is a good way to make cash for Square. We won't hear Square mention FFVII-2 until after they see how well FFX-2 does. I'm figuring probably about a month or two after X-2 releases. Right now it's up in the air and the possiblility of VII-2 is probably 50-50 or 60-40 at the most. We'll just have to wait and see.

Talking FFX-2 spoilers for u

Hello peeps, good day. Thanks to ur explanation sweet tooth =) And about the other people here curious about FFX-2, i am very up-to-date on ffx-2, coz i just said, im very addicted on it hehehe =D. The release date of FFX-2 japanese version is on March 13, 2003. American version dunno yet.
Spoilers:
There really an aeon returning. It's Bahamut, the problem there is Yuna and her company dunno why Bahamut appear in front of them. Coz yuna already sacrifice her all aeons in FFX. So there's a problem in it. One of my friend who's also up-to-date on FFX-2, he told me that because Yu Yevon still alive. So that's why Bahmut appears, so now im expecting that there will have a job "Summoner" in FFX-2, coz i really love summoning too. And about Tidus, i think it's a dream or something. Coz i saw him running with Yuna and they were chased by soldiers. And the soldiers shoot them. After that, i saw Tidus and Yuna already lie down on the floor, dunno if they were shot.
I know all of these coz i found all FFX-2 trailers, i download it all even if my connection is only 56k hehehe, i still got it. I got the newest trailers where Yuna is having concert, she's hot there especially when she's singing and dancing
