I figured the help line was more for glitches and network problems, so I wanna put this here not just to help my ass but anyone else like me who is amped for KZ2. Here's my problem, first and foremost I am an RPG gamer, but I do have much love for FPS. However, I burnt out on it on the Xbox1 and only got back in recently. Frankly, today's online is rather new to me as I haven't messed with deathmatches since DOOM, and they are putting their entire fists up my ass in deathmatches for Resistance 2. I'm a slow paced dude, I like the coop, I'd like a little more energy, or at least a reason why ducking and diving behind stuff while serpentining can't get the gunfire off of me.
Be a trooper, help me out. I know I'm not the only one who can't compete with people who have tons of time to play and become gangstas at it. Help us all out, give us a few tips on how you big shots own the game in the fast paced world of deathmatches, or anything else FPS. Ain't nobody perfect. ![]()

This problem is only exacerbated by the recent trend for multiplayer character levelling. Like you, I have very little time for playing so I never get a chance to truly refine my skills. For this reason I favour co-op or team games in which I take up a support and cover role. I think familiarity and practice are our only hopes World, and even that can't save us from high levelled 24/7 gamers.

I have always believed that map knowledge is the best strength you can take into battle. Just remember the maps, get them down in your mind and then everything you do will counter what you see happening with the enemy. COD4 was a prime example, where in that game if you could accurately predict where the enemy might be, then you would get the drop on them.
I think it is better to be smart than to have the fastest eye-hand coordination in the world. Play real slow until you get more confident. Its rare you make mistakes when you are playing with your head compared to playing with your eyes.Weapon choice is also a little bit important though that is constantly changing with the different games. If you need some help add my psn, and when I get K2 I'll be more than glad to help you out where I can.

I only play shooters and racing games.
Rule 1 like Daxter said is know the maps, know every nook, cranny and where someone can sneak up on you or hide in to ambush you. Rule 2, wherever you're headed, whenever you're moving, whenever you're sniping, you have to keep an eye out on all angles, the rooftop accross from you, the rappel ropes that get up to your spot etc. Walking down a hallway? always quickly turn around and check if theres a sneaker. Walk into a room? Clear every corner. In a firefight? Strafe left and right to dodge fire, even if you're sniping, a moving target is less likely to get hit. Try not to rush around a corner too often, its always better to pie around it so you can fit as little of you around to get a view. If you can see, you can shoot and won't be totally exposed. If you hear a Ting, Ting, Ting....chances are a grenade just landed at your feet. If you don't see him toss it but hear the first Ting you need to be already running at the time when you FIRST hear it. You can escape death depending on the fuse. If possible aim for the head or high torso, quicker kill, less ammo used and less time dealing with him. Weapon choice can help but in some games like Vegas2, the weapons can be superior to each other but ultimitely it comes down to who is using them. Don't always go for the best weapon, pick something you like and are comfortable with. I see people rip people apart in that game with a Mac 11 and its the weakest SMG yet they have no trouble tearing it up. |

Another tip is don't get mad when a random nub kills you from some random nub attack. It actually is a tip because you can and will die often and just because you get killed alot doesnt meant you suck at it. Nubs like to use the biggest guns and in my cases makes them slower, so while you are rocking an smg you can run circles around them.
It all comes down to playing smart. @ Xanavi with the example you gave, I'd say the guy with the Micro is the better player. Imagine if he had a better gun. They would have kill them alot earlier. I don't mean to say the weapon choice is always important, just sometimes it is good to know what gets you the quickest kill. MP5/COD4 best combo ever. Other games it doesnt matter as much.

The difference between how fast you can kill a guy in games like KZ2 and Vegas 2 are small because they have proper hit detection and have differences in damage where the person gets hit(Headshots, necks etc). Resistance 2 is another story... |

your maneuvering would help if it weren't for the abomination called "aim-assist"
often the best way to not be killed is to keep your eyes peeled and always be the first to attack, and BE PARANOID. Assume that there is an enemy in every corner until you start to get the gist of the particular map you're playing on. If you are under attack, you could pull a Master Chief and jump around, or run like the wind for cover, then try to figure out where the bullets are coming from. If you're equipped for long/medium range fire, then aim for the head and fire like hell. If you're rocking a shotgun of some sort, then try to flush him out with a few grenades, then blow a hole in his stomach. at first, aim center-mass (torso), but once you get good, always go for the head. Thats my experience with shooters so far, mostly with BF:BC and SWBF2. I don't know what kind of hit detection R2 has, but every game is fairly different, so I kept it general. and remember, dying happens. accept it and move on =D |

After finishing up leveling to 65 recently in CoDwaw i must say im very impressed by some of the competition out there. Not sure exactly how they do it, but some people just plain own these type of games. I hope you all enjoy KZ2, im sure any and everybody will be out there...

i would have to say me and my boy run cod4 online, i'm not sure why but ever since i touched the controls i was straight gangsta with it, i went 56 and 11 a few days ago which was pretty sick... i'm almost having withdrawals not being able to get online and play lol.
but yeah TWEWM you just have to play some, it doesn't take long you'll get used to the game speed. you just have to be willing to change your gameplay |

If I shared what made me so good at HALO COMBAT EVOLVED then EVERYONE would be good which means that NO ONE would be good which means that I wouldn't be considered good anymore so I'm sorry I can't help you (sorry).
Seriously though, FPS games are no different than anything else; it just takes practice. When I first started playing Halo 2 online I was TERRIBLE, but I played a good six hours a night for months on end, and eventually ended up running one of the most successful Halo clans on the net. Had nothing to do with some innate skill or 'tips' from anyone else, it was just from playing a lot. |
