Far Cry 3 is awesome, but yeah the 'game over if spotted' stuff suuuucks because unlike the first Far Cry your stealth options are rather limited. You can't even go prone =\
I think you'll like how it all wraps up, Benny |

yeah, in FC3 my fav and most used weapon was the silenced sniper, perfect for taking out the alarms, cages and giving out a head shot to the rest of them.
its interesting the approach of Blood Dragon, I seriously thought they would of just reused the map and outposts of FC3, but no. In FC3 you can stalk most of the outposts, usually from higher ground, I used to love sitting above the camp and just pop shooting their little heads ...in BD I haven't seen many outposts that are surrounded by mountains or hills, so the approach is very different, I find that BOOM, BANG and ARRRGH is a pretty much the most effective way of taking over the garrison.the more I think about it the more I think how FC3 and BD has impressed me, more than any of the other A listers in the FPS genre over the last few years, thats not to say I dont think theyre good, but the writing in FC3 and BD was exception imo. FC3 had some really great MP too, just a shame that everyone was off playing cod ![]() anyway, im still playing BD, just got several upgrades to my weapons and progressing nicely last mission that I did was the braincage, loved it. oh and for a bit of RnR.. back on the old GT5, which is just brilliant. picked up the academy ed for a few quid new, worked out as an amazing deal considering the DLC that came with it, now to finish those A spec endurance races!

I completed Far Cry 3. It's a great game, the combat and the chaos of the various systems working really well to create lots of great moments and mix up the fights.
The story is good too with some decent voice work for the most part, but my initial impressions of the story remained the same throughout, specifically that they don't really tell it very well. Outside of the story missions it's all about being open and having choices and the unscripted chaos that follows, but the story itself is all cutscenes, forced stealth, narrow spaces, QTE boss fights, turret sections, scripted spawns and fixed enemy placement, just like any other shooter. All my favourite experiences and memorable moments come from outside of the story missions, and it shouldn't really need to be like that. Still, those experiences and moments are pretty darn cool. |

one of my biggest problems with FC3 was that one of the best baddies in a game in recent memories had such a small part, it was almost criminal.
anyway, I loved the fact that every mission was a bit different, and with some of the best characters in recent games.. truly for me game of the year. the Guy who played the Doc died last week R.I.P Dr Earnhardt. after Blood dragon I'm going to start FC3 again I think. ...unless I get Metro ![]()

I'm downloading an update for DUST 514, it's a big one, over a GB. I'm guessing it's that large because it's my first time logging in and I never had the beta, not sure if that has anything to do with it? If I knew I was gonna have to run an update like this I might of just let it run over night. But feck it anyway, it's downloading now and I'll hopefully get to play it sometime this evening.
Also I was playing more Soul Sacrifice online and that was a lot of fun. |

Finished up my Zero run in Borderlands 2, so now all I need to do is go through the game with Krieg the Psycho and I'll have beaten the game with every class. Already at 350 hours, amazed that I'm not yet completely burned out on this game.
Also, I picked up Hydrophobia: Prophecy on Steam because it's on some ridiculous sale for like $1.25. Fun gameplay but man the voice acting is almost as bad as the original Resident Evil. The main character can never decide if she's Australian or a bad imitation of a Southern Belle. |
