Dillon: Yeah, I know, but I can only put 10 and it came down to Twisted Metal 2 and Syphon Filter. I never liked the latter but adored the former so you can chalk that up to selector bias (
), but reasonably speaking, we didn't really need MGS and Syphon Filter. We all know MGS is the better game and they're very similar, so...Btw, if you people don't start giving some love to one of the greatest games of all time - Symphony of the Night - I'm gonna have some kind of breakdown. ![]()

lol.. people in high places eh? dont worry Syphon Filter, youre my no.1 (hugs Gabe Logan.. in a manly fashion).
pfff Castlevania... never really did it for me. sorry ![]() but personally (and this is the last time i mention this).. a lot of people credit MGS for some things that Syphon Filter did first, SF1 was a great game. I recently got it for the PSP from the PSN, suck ass.. so yeh, rose tinted glasses and all that. just wish they would give us Brits MGS1 for the ps1/psp download! anyway.. VOTE ABE!!! ABE was better than Gabe, Snake and that Dracular guy from Castlevania. he was green for starters and could fart and slap people... Snake only managed half that by MGS4. VOTE ABE! |

"ABE was better than Gabe,"
You hurtful bugger.. Oh wait. ![]() I voted for Abe too. I generally don't enjoy that style of gaming but the first Abe game made me smile and looked great at the time.

I recall back in the day having bought Tenchu about a day before buying MGS. Became so absorbed in Tenchu that i played it over and over for weeks and never really looked at MGS (had already played and beat the demo). After playing Tenchu, MGS just never seemed that intrigueing to me again on any level. Abe was so frustrating i gave up somewhere in there, didnt seem to care anymore...

Even so, it's worth mentioning. We're going to do one more pre-prepared poll (Best Sports/Racing Game) for the PS1, and then we're going to do one more special Poll to round out the Top 5 for that system. That special poll will include 10 PS1 games - like Tenchu - that just barely missed getting on the previous genre-specific polls. So if any of you have other ideas for that special poll, let me know. It will go up against Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3, what should certainly be Metal Gear Solid, and the winner of the Best Sports/Racing game for the final PS1 contest. ![]()

Okay, so Round 1 for the best PS1 action/adventure poll is over, and the 5 finalists are:
Metal Gear Solid Resident Evil 2 Oddworld: Abe's Exodus Tomb Raider Spyro: Year of the Dragon The fact that Symphony of the Night, one of my favorite games of all time, didn't make it, is MOST disheartening. Damn you all. ![]()

It's nice to see a poll where FFVII and MGS have competition, even if it's only from each other. It's very close between them right now (39% and 40%, with FFVII just ahead). Crash 3 is making a strong march for third place, especially considering it was almost missed off the polls entirely.
