GameTrailers compare Grid on both systems.. or not.

Seems that Gametrailers once again have messed up. Their obvious teenage fanboyism fascination towards the 360 is yet again apparent. They compared both the 360 version and the ps3 version side by side, basically showing the 360 to be far superior.

Watch this YouTube vid and see for yourself, quite unbelievable that they messed up.. let me explain.

In the past gametrailers have been accused of dumbing down the brightness or taking comparisons from different types of TV in order to show the 360 in a better light, right or wrong, they have been accused many times for this. But this latest one is amazing… they basically used the PS3 to show the 360 side of things and the PS3 version for the PS3 side of things in this latest comparison video. So they used some quality footage from the PS3, labelled it “360” then got some not so great footage and labelled it “PS3”..

So how can you be sure that this is true and that this whole incident isn’t made up? Because on the moving footage for the 360 side of things, at the bottom left of the screen there is a info box telling you what the Triangle, Square X and shoulder buttons do in your replay! Lol.. yet Gametrailers vid labels this as 360 footage.

Shame shame SHAME on you Gametrailers!!

I don't buy this whole 'major gaming media outlet x is biased towards y consoles' thing, because I'm sure if you search, there could be arguments for pretty much every console. If they're biased towards anything, it's towards developers from their regions of the world (which is logical). And even if it appears that they are, it's hard to blame everything on the media outlet logically, when it could be the doings of an intern.

Ever considered that it could be a simple mistake?

I use Gametrailers a lot, if they were that biased i wouldnt use them. but they have been accused many times for this.

over the last 6 months i can think of 5 titles that were apparently messed up in terms of comaprisons.

is it just a mistake? of course it could be. but you would of thought that if you had been previously 'exposed' for faking comparison videos that to regain your legit status that you would vet everything that goes through.

This is so blatent that theres only four things it could be..

1: pure fu*k wittage
2: on purpose
3: a mistake
4: a plant

after reading it and seeing this more im starting to lean towards no.1

From what I heard they genuinely did record footage of the two consoles. I've no idea how they ended up mislabeling some of it though, unless they really did want to make the PS3 look bad by filtering out the good stuff.

Watching the clip shows that they did have two distinct crashes, one at an angle that sends the car flipping and spinning and another that had essentially a head-on crash into the guard rail. Perhaps they were supposed to have footage for both consoles for both crashes, but whoever put the video together only got the PS3 stuff, assumed that was the whole lot and put it together.

It's certainly an amusing mistake.

The following isn't directed at Dillon because Dillon owns.

The only thing funnier than bad gaming outlets are the PS3 fanboys that think every gaming outlet is trying to screw over Sony.

I have no idea what GT's history is with comparison videos, but it's far more logical to conclude this was just a stupid goof, and not some diabolical plot to destroy the PS3's already shaky reputation with multiplatform titles' performance on the PS3.

personally I think there is a difference, if I had to say, then I would say I actually prefer the 360 version on these vids, but saying that the difference isnt enough to stop me from buying GRiD... if I buy it at all.

As for what you said Ryan, I agree.. the industry will always have its fanboys, but some take it upon themselves to lie down and die for Sony, noble yes.. also a bit silly. The console will speak fro itself. As long as people follow Hideo, Polyphony, Infinity Ward and what seemingly what Guerrilla have done (plus others… ) ..then the PS3 will have a mightier voice than any high pitch geeky fanboy who chooses to defend their console will have.

Im all for defending something if its being shown in an unfair light or if the evidence is wrong, but just to start something off because they feel a need to talk, maybe they should from time to time not say anything.

The comparison videos from the past have been proven to be fake (apparently, but it’s not like what GT showed was terrible in the first place), the last game they were slated for was Burnout, but because you couldn’t get same exact times of the day for both consoles, they both looked different.

Maybe GT should just stop doing these vids?

Either way you look at it, this latest issue was a total embarrassment, no other word for it.
