Assuming (perhaps unrealistically) that a 360 port would be identical but with disc changes occurring in place of the PS3 version's mandatory installs after each act, the disc swapping would actually take up less time. Plus it would have the added bonus of tactile involvement in the process rather than passively waiting (making another assumption that the installs are just a progress screen). It would be like a mini-game in itself!

haha. I have always been against disc swapping BUT looking at the build-up on my HD I'm almost at the point of saying I'd trade swapping for mandatory installs. If I had more time and money for games I'd really be screwed.

Ok, so, having been at gametrailers for quite a while now I can explain why PS3 fans are so damned bitter about comparison videos.

Gametrailers explicitly says that they have the videos at their default settings, that is to say they leave out super white and full color range off PS3 versions because they aren't default, HOWEVER, on the 360 from what I understand these are default settings. So despite blatantly telling us this they do nothing to change it, so it would be next to impossible for the PS3 to look better. Even if the PS3 isn't as good (which it isn't most of hte time on multiplats), gametrailers really does screw it over.

I'm no fanboy but if that isn't bullshit I don't know what is. I didn't hear about this but that is absolutely hilarious and fantastic. I HATE that youtube is corporate now, because I really want to find this somewhere.

I like using GT to check out new trailers and whatnot, but their comparison videos are garbage and their staff pretty much sucks. At least this is how I feel about the overall quality, consistency, and legitimacy of gametrailers.com.

So what we are saying is that they don't ever compare apples to apples.
When I bought my 360 I think the video cable was set to the standard TV psoition by default, not the HDTV position. This means they should have to leave it like that if they are using the default settings.

I'd like to see these comparisons if they set up both machines identically and let the hardware give us true like for like displays.

Just had a thought. The PS3 doesn't come with a Hi-Def cable so they were willing to BUY a HD cable but they wouldn't go into the settings and fiddle a bit to set it the same as the 360. Crazy guys.
