ok.. its not terrible news, but im quite sad about this...



basically the whole turning your phone in to an ipod so you can listen to music while youre walking about... that didnt make the final cut of the game.

BUT.. instead of 14 radio stations, its going to be at least 18!! hurrah!

so there you go, its not all roses. I guess its was all too good to be true eh? I mean, why didnt they do walkmans in GTA Vice City? it was still possible on that old ancient console known to some as a PS2, lol. so really, what could be the reason why they cut this feature out?

I reckon it could be because either the Ipod feature would be too much like an Ipod or they didnt want us to run out of music!! Im not even sure if you can put your own music on the game, if you cant then maybe thats the reason this was cut.

it's ok, I'll be able to do that through the xbox guide. Shame it's not integrated in the game, though.

Xbox guide? is that to do with the XMB? i wonder if we will be able to do that with ours when it comes.

Well, technically it was in the psp games. :P

But the xbox supports overriding the soundtrack for every game. Don't know about the ps3's XMB.

yeh, true. i think there might be something that for our XMB.. i probably wouldnt use it for GTA, but games like Oblivion i would use it for, or Tekken.

The ZIP service is only available in the USA (of course) and even if I did what sunburn said with 360 HD music tracks. The sound is still front speakers only with no sub. (I've had these issues since I got the 360 with a digital out to 5.1 system, no sub and front only for music tracks)

Every game I turn the "music off". The way I like GTA series is that it's built in radio into the car. So when you get out it's ambient noise. I'm pretty sure I would never use a "ipod" sort of music when walking around in GTA4.

If that "amazon" ZIT download serviced worked for actually copying tracks over to a usb or even being able to access it through your computer to put on an ipod without "drm" or protection then that would be sweet.

It's no big deal for me.

I can't imagine why Sony hasn't implemented something similar to the Xbox guide music feature. Being able to plug your iPod into your PS3 and play your music while playing a game wouldn't hurt at all.

well the Ipod thing is coming, I dont think its in an official way, but I know that iTouch and iPhone will be BRD compatible, whcih is great. I really hope that one day Apple and Sony strike a deal where the PS3 becomes iTune friendly! more chance of that happening with Sony than MS.

if that happened the music library would be incredible.

as for the custom music feature, I think with our XMB coming and the way the 360 deals with it, I feel there will be something to match it. knowing what they know about the 360, i cant see Sony making something not as good.

I guess we'll see.

but im just not interested in custom music in GTA, a personal thing i know, but thats why i love GTA. when we first got GTA (no.1), I remember the fact that a few of the songs were real like the Ska music, im sure other games had real music too.. but GTA was the first I remember having it. And you could pop your game in to a cd player and play it as a music disk (cant do THAT with the PS3!! lol).

so i trust R* more than any other game to get the music right as to me the music in GTA is as important as the content.
