Took almost 4 months after the expansion was released... Better be good, especially since the expansion until this point is 2 lousy new jobs I refuse to touch (and anyone male playing DNC needs to die a swift painful death, especially the galkas) and 2 short, boring missions that might as well been a miniquest.

So far, aside from the amazing looking past, it's been worse than history class for 8 years learning about American history over and over and over again. One could walk to their main country in their sleep without dying.

4 years of this game, this update better be good... No ex is worth playing with if the game can't offer something new to keep my eyes open.

New White Mage teleport spells I heard, but those might require like an alliance of 75s with the way they do things these days. Wonder if they're gonna knock off anymore NM drops to unsellable/untradeable to try and make the money sellers cry.

lmao, well what should have been a short download took 6 hours, and for what? Nothing. LOL, I guess some people are happy with it, I see it as they simply made one of the new job classes the new upcoming most wanted job, and some other not so fascinating things.

Might just jump on the wagon with the people who've quit already, before I get teased again into paying for a 5th year.

I just found out about this yesterday LOL. I've been playing a ton of Skate. on Xbox 360 the last 3 weeks or so. I haven't had much time on FFXI except for a 1 hour farming session for a friend a couple of days ago.

I've been playing since the PS2 HDD came out in 2004 (or was it 2003?) and it's been a sweet ride and I still love the game. When WOTG came out, I spammed every single mission in the game and I'm happy they released more content and quests (The main thing I do is quests, I'm not a exp hog). I got to cancel some ummm, torrents I'm getting to update FFXi today LOL.

Here's my stats: DRK 75, WAR 38, THF 37, NIN 37, SAM 37, PUP 37, SMN 32 (Soon to be 37 lol, I'm a sub job whore). it's a really fun game. I've put in about 480 days into the game since the start lol.

lol, unless I'm on game, I can't talk to anyone about it, because most people reply with "eww, that game sucks, WoW is better" riiiight.... *cough* (WoW is for you people who can't handle the skills needed for FFXI!) Won't ever forget getting the WoTG expansion though, guy at the store was a Seraph server player! First time I ever met somebody from a different server.

On that note, I got on with my ex yesterday. Ugh, lol, she pulled her usual 'up and vanish' techinque, blaming it on that she had to help her daughter (my ex step daughter... *cry*) with her homework.

Most of the quests added seem to be in relation to DNC and SCH AF quests, and the few quests for the new WHM and BLM scrolls. Didn't see anything beyond that.


Honestly, all they did imo was add some new things to beseiged, ungimped the brains of the NPC buddies a little (omg, no more casting silence on crabs. wait, I can't use this in Aht Urghan or WoTG, wtf do I care?! who uses signet areas anymore?!?). My favorite part of all though, and this is the ultimate slap in the face of all time... SCH gets Raise II and Reraise II, AND! tier 4 BLM spells... Wait... Haven't people said RDM should have had these for years?!? RDM should have been first in line, not some new job. Talk about insult.

My favorite part for me though was that I didn't get anything new for my job. They said they added something for dragoons. Lies! They say that all the time, but it has nothing to do with me, has everything to do with my flying stalker rat, or wyvern; whichever you prefer! The change to the wyverns is also pointless. The ability does not trigger with campaign or besieged. But wait, as far as I can tell, WoTG is nothing more than campaign... No missions, no storyline, no exciting new characters, no plot... Just kill things for exp. I'm 75, I don't care about exp!



and glad you're a DRK ^^ I'd have to spite you if you were a RNG, you know how it goes.. RNGs hate everyone, and think everyone is a piece of crap compared to them. Gotten alot of hate from RNGs.


Oh well, probably going to quit game. Kinda fed up with paying for it when I don't play it because there's nothing to do to enjoy it, and SE is failing to follow up with new missions. I knew they were getting lazy, but this is bad! Almost wondering if they got bought out by EA

Will suck if I quit, I'm the oldest drg main on the server (the others quit and/or changed jobs, since we were all kind of aware of eachother) and I not to start my own parade, but I'm sort of well known and legendary among dragoons on the server I get alot of ... "omg! I remember seeing you when I started playing!" from the generations that followed after mine... Still getting it. /sigh

Think I've kept playing all this time because of all the effort I had put into it and my friends. My two best friends quit, I talk to them via PS3 now.

My ex said she's quitting if I quit. LOL, amazing how things go.


Oh well...

End result... This update is one of the worst imo, second only to the update that introduced BOUNDING BOOTS and EMPRESS HAIRPIN... -.- They stole my emperor hairpin gil making powers!



btw, Dillon, they did atleast release it on PC over there right? It's not a very demanding game via PC, I used to play it on a Dell 1.4ghz laptop with 512mb of ram with an nvidia go! card... All that on dialup. Was... Flawless honestly, I never had issues. Although events like Besieged and Campaign need the extra power... Otherwise you'll death lag yourself a fast grave. I'm am really amazed though it never made a PS2 version release since the whole collectors edition works just fine with the PS3. All they'd have to do is state it's for PS3 only even if it is a PS2 game. Meh. They don't think obviously.

I got on last night. They didn't seem to add any main story lines for the wotg unless nobody has found anything yet. They did add a bunch of new wotg quests that aren't dnc or sch.

I've never said in the game that I've ever been bored lol. It's just how I am. Always something to do, with the break I took was for skate. Putting in a good 4 hours last night is no prob.

My fishing is at 94.7 and cooking is 100 +3 with Alc at 60, Wood working at 60 lol. So I just go fishing alot of the time to relax. I'm going to hit up some missions today with those 12 quads and yags and hopefully start doing guild points again for fishing. I have everything in cooking and fishing guild wise except those new signs. It's still a fun game if you know what to do.

I've soloed smn and sam and smn is my next to 37 and I might do another job to 37 solo after smn. Always something to do lol.

lol, I give anyone who can tolerate crafting and fishing alot of credit. I have no patience for it, and I get bored with it really fast. I used to camp NMs alot, but now most NMs aren't even worth camping, and those that are, are not soloable, or are 21-24 hour pop times.

My LS was doing dynamis and sky, BUT, because somebody in our LS wouldn't listen to the LS we were working with, we're no longer doing things with them. Dynamis was keeping me on, and from all the usual deaths, I'd rebuild buffer with my ex, or go level my THF (63, close to 64).

I have 2 accounts, 2 characters on each account. The second account I got in December, and it's pretty low level. My first and main has a 75DRG elvaan, and 75SAM hume.

75DRG has 40WHM, 38PLD, 37WAR, 37SAM, 37THF (rest are lower)

75SAM has 63THF, 40NIN, 37DRG, 37WAR (rest are lower).

Honestly, I've been bored with the game for about 2 and 1/2 years, looking for reasons to quit, although I usually was given reasons to keep me busy and keep playing. Mainly I stayed for my friends... They mostly all quit though recently. I've taken a many breaks from the game, and even recently spent a few weeks playing Lost Odyssey and Oblivion (now stuck as a vampire cause it's the Glitch of The Year Edition...).

And yeah, SE made no mention of adding new missions.

After 4 months of an expansion that was attacked for having a poor number of missions and quests, they couldn't add the use of chocobos or even Jeuno [S]? Come on. I finished all of the WoTG stuff in about 2 days with my ex. She spends most of her time meriting, but she too feels like I do. There's no endgame going atm, and there's no NMs worth camping anymore. Megalobugard and Padfoot are about as good as it gets it seems, and we can't duo Alkyoneus.

LOL, dunno what I'd buy though anyways, I have no need for gil! I don't have any gil (10k), but nor do I have a need for any anymore. I'm pretty much capped on AH stuff unless you wanted to get into the whole +1 version thing, but I'm not THAT into it. Ex wants gil to catch up with me, lol, I wish her luck. Can't buy player skill!
