I don't own a ps3
|
What I mean by this, are games you bought with a firm intention of playing them, but you haven't for some reason, but you still mean to play it someday (call it gaming procrastination). I've mentionned it in the ZOE2 thread, but this game is at the top of my shameful gaming pile.
So ZOE2 is definitely on top of that pile. I have FFXII, which I've played for about 20 hours, but left there for WoW, and I've always meant to go back - but haven't. Killer 7 - Huge fan of the style of the game, but I haven't played it for more than 1 hour. And Okami. There had to be a zelda coming out the same year, so I played it until that came out, meaning to go back, but I haven't yet. And don't get me started on PC games. ![]() So what's your gaming pile of shame?

A little left of center

I think about this a lot, I keep saying to myself that I'll go back and play a lot of the games I haven't now that I've graduated, but I haven't. Or I'd get as far as to start the game, and play for 5 minutes, and quit, possibly playing it again months or more later, but starting from the beginning instead of where that left off.
Including but not limited to (and in no significant order): any of the Hitman Series, including Hitman 2 that I got for free with my soundcard, I played for a few levels and just stopped. FF1-6, X-2, and Tactics, which I played all of a little, and just stopped. I keep intending to get 12 but I still havent and I dont know if I ever actually will. Even tried starting FF3 on the DS and just forgot about continuing it. Chrono Trigger (got almost done with it) and ChronoChross (I know, I'm a bad person) Fear Effect, Vagrant Story, Legend of Dragoon, and RE2 (maybe including all REs except 4 which I did play all through), which I bought used at EB and never really did too much in them. I did make it in a good distance in RE2 but can't beat one of the bosses. Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate 2, Fallout 1,2,Tactics, Commandos 3, for some reason I consider myself a fan of each, but I've never actually made it very far in any except BG2, but I still reinstall them every so often when I feel my computer has too many googlebits free and think I have the patience to play them until I uninstall them again. I guess I have a ton more but those are the ones I keep telling myself I want to play though but I'm just a bad person and can't do it. I did put off beating Gears of War for a long time though, but I ended up pulling through and finishing it about a month ago. |

WoW really messed with my game playing. I ultimately played that almost exclusively for a couple of years despite still buying new games. Looking at my collection I have:

Got a minimum of 7-8 games ive never played and may or may not get back to. I used to buy 2-3 games at a time and would be playing some at the same time, then WoW came along also and i got sidetracked. I needed the break for a while from console gaming but am enjoying it pretty good nowadays, mmorpgs pretty much bore me nowadays...

God there's too much to list, but I'm sure folks here would say FFXII is the game I most need to finish, though I just can't bring myself to do it.

Xbox 360:
Call of Duty 2 Mostly for achivements. Rumble Roses XX Bought it when I got my 360, played 4 hours of it. Grand Theft Auto:The Trilogy Pack I've beat all GTA's on PS2 and started San Andreas again and got 14 hours into it. Dead or Alive xtreme 2 The amount of time you have to put into it is insane to get any type of achivements. Halo 3 I did alot of the game and beat it in coop but never single player. never even went online (Like Gears of War). Xbox 360 Live Arcade: Gauntlet Played 1 hour and left it lol. Castlevania:SOTN I played it for 10min LOL! ![]() PSP: I've come across alot of games /cough and my list of games is building up. I'm playing almost 5 different ones at a give time with a backlog now and it's going to get worse.Lucky I've stopped buying Xbox 360 games since about November due to funds and not alot of time. Once I get some cash going I'll be buying all the ones I've missed. Mass Effect, COD4, PGR4, Orange Box....ect. The cool thing is I got the Special Edition of GTA4 already pre-ordered and paid for so it's no prob lol. Last edited by cAtDaFeLiX : 03-10-2008 at 12:58 AM. |

Also, to add to my list of shame:
I bought Final Fantasy XI and spent 13 hours installing updates (had to get up at 5am and go downstairs just to shut the Effing machine off before it overheated) and have currently spent a grand total of.... five minutes actually playing the game. I have bought about 12 XBLA games that I've not come close to completing. I've bought about 8 VC games for Wii that I've barely touched, but I beat most of those at one point in my life so I don't know if they count. I still have to finish Forza 2, F.E.A.R. and Ace Combat 6 for the 360. I still have to finish Ghost Recon AW 2, MediEvil: Resurrection, SOCOM US Navy Seals Fire Team Bravo 2 and Portable Ops for PSP, though I am currently working on Portable Ops! |

Guild wars I played for hours and hours, but never finished it, and never will Ace Combat 6 I bought finally a couple months back after having wanted it for a while, and felt like I should have waited for the bargain bin, as I hate buying a relatively old game at full price.. I beat that in a week or 2.. I still wonder if I should have allocated the money elsewhere. Portable Ops I got, played a little, hated it, forced myself to play more and started to love it, then set it down and haven't had the patience to pick it up since, so it's been sitting in the case for months, just like my PSP. This thread is similar to my book pile of shame. I have so many books I started through and wanted to finish just to set down and forget. 2 of them are even in my car for when I have break, but I just never read them. There are 9 right on my desk next to me. I need to force myself to take time for all this missed entertainment. [although somehow I've found the time to start Diablo 2 with a friend again recently] |
