Default Blu-Ray too small for MGS

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...or-Solid-Snake

I'd not heard this up until now but apparently the BR disc is simply too small to fit MGS4 on without making cuts and compressions.

I didn't think we'd be seeing size issues this early in the PS3 life but looking at the quality of MGS I shouldn't be surprised.

I await more details of where changes need to be made before the final release.

Just compress the audio. Problem solved!

Just have piano music overlay . They could display dialogue with those onscreen cards. Dillon might be on to something here.

Sunny, I'd have no objection to compressed audio as I only run through my tv speakers but would this result in a loss of clarity for those with super expensive soundsystems.

Those that would ultimately see a difference probably represent less than 5% of the audio market.

nah, don't remove the audio, just use MIDI files! lol

I have a 5 speaker sound system, but I think people are getting a little carried away with the uncompressed 7.1 audio... If the game indeed has that, developers need to rethink things just a little. 5.1 DD or DTS should be about standard. We're buying games to play them, not listen to music!

On that note... If they can't fit a single game onto a BD disc, then I'm gonna start shaking in my boots about how many discs FINAL FANTASY XIII will be.

I forget where I read it but I think Kojima was sayin in Japan they would normaly have a Japanese and english soundtrack, apparently some japanese like to have an english sountrack with subs, this time however theres not room for both tracks so they'll be getting just a japanese soundtrack.

Not only that, but the actual samples can be compressed. Does every sound file need to be in 7.1? No.
