Default MLB '08: The Show For Sony Systems

This game looks and sounds pretty amazing. Here's the press release for it:

Quote:
To deliver the closest experience possible, next to actually trying to make it in the Majors, MLB '08: The Show introduces a more immersive gameplay experience. For example in Road to The Show mode, as gamers attempt to make a starting line-up in the Big Leagues, playing on both offense and defense from a custom-created player's perspective, a more robust dynamic goal system and a new career advancement system determines when a player is eligible for a promotion. Additionally, custom-created players are more interactive. As a position player, gamers are able to further adjust that players positioning, catchers endure more defense situations, and pitchers now experience mound visits with user interaction -- all making Road to The Show mode even more realistic.
MLB '08: The Show also boasts new online features, the opportunity to take music stored on a PS3 system's HDD or a Memory Stick Duo and add tracks to the list of music played in the JukeBox, more than 3,000 individual player animations, including personalized stances, pitching animations, individual swings, batting rituals and motion captures from MLB players, and much more.

Anyone looking forward to this?

These aren't my sort of games but more dev work in the career progression is never a bad thing and is an area which a lot of sport games would benefit from.

Dude I'm totally psyched. Can't wait to play some HD baseball on my new Ps3. This looks to be the greatest baseball sim ever created.

I got it... and I'm straight up addicted to Road to the Show mode. This should tide me over well before the release of GTA IV.

The PSP version has received a ton of playing time for me... it's been a long time since I've played over 40 full games of baseball on any system. I really haven't tried RotS, surprisingly; it's been full-on Season mode for me as the Boston Red Sox. (Surprise!)

I've had fun with the PS3 version, too; there are a few added broadcast touches (replays of earlier home runs, linescores and box scores, etc.) which make the presentation feel a lot more like a TV telecast than ever before.

Good stuff here.

I have it for the PSP and it's really good. A 7 foot/300 pound guy (Max stats) playing short stop is <3 lol. The road to the show is prob scaled down for the psp version but it's really cool.

I picked the Red Sox also Peter lol.

Anybody grab this for PS2? I'm thinking about picking it up once I get out of school next week, but I haven't heard too much about it.
