i just thought i would start this off to see what others thought.

personally i dont think we (in the UK) will get it later in the UK than a week at the most.

Its Blighty R* that makes it.. and you Americans are darn lucky we let you have it at all, let alone early

seriously though, it will only be a week between the regions, i would put a bet on it. MCV are a good source, but like every source.. always wrong at somepoint.

tho, it could really be Apr before its released! but after news of Oz getting a 15 cert and Take2 being a little worse off until GTA hits the shops, personally i would say its going to be sooner rather than later.

if the USA does get it say a month before we do here, then like 99% of all UK PS3 GTA fans, we will import it.. and that wouldnt make much financial sense when Take2 add up the daily takings. because i know getting the USA version is cheaper than the UK version. it may only be by a tenna.. but money is money.


ps.. btw, i am worried about this Oz rating.... is it actually true? because Oz are worse than the UK when it comes to banning Video game violence! plus GTS was always released later there than in the UK. not as bad as Japan, when we were playing SanA, Japan only had just got Vice City (??!?). ...but does this mean the Oz version has been watered down or are all versions like this? how can they rate this game just yet?

i like my foul language, whores and drive bys.... i hope theyre still in the game!

I like to keep my eye on the release dates play.com display, they have almost always been correct or change promptly when necessary, I knew it had been put back from Oct on there before I saw any sort of announcement about it on the net, and at the moment they have GTAIV down for March, I think its the 21st of that month fingers crossed

How long before the US did we get The Getaway?

I see no reason why there should be any difference in shipping dates or if there are then they should be in favour of the production country.

Not that it really matters to me as I doubt I'll be getting it. My one game purchase is GT prologue and I might be pushing to get the cash together for GT5 when it's released later.

I don't think Its made in just one country, theres at least R* North(scotland) and New York, apparently thats why they went with a more mirror like apperance for Liberty City because all the inspiration they needed was all around.
Also I wouldn't be supprised if R* Leeds(England) was involved in some way aswell.

yeh, all of R* worked on GTA, but i believe R* North working are heavily on it... always have been the main house for GTA.

ps: did you mean the getaway or did you mean GTA?

the USA ver of The Getaway came out 1/19/03 and we got it 12/11/02.. ages before.
It was a pity that it wasnt 'really' worth the wait for our American cousins.

I did like The Getaway, shame i was the only one in the world


just talking about it makes me want to watch the trailer again..

I did mean getaway as that was the only game I know was made mainly by a UK based team.

I did like the Getaway even with it's obvious flaws. Didn't ever get passed the laserbeam level

Never bothered with Black for some reason.

I really like the getaway.
I thought it was very entertaining!
I got black but got bored of it pretty quickly for some reason and never got round to completing it.
I think it was because it was the same setting and didnt feel like a proper sequel to me.
