I've read a few times that its going to be a worlwide simultaneous release so I hope it is!
If thats the case we'll get it from the 1st May.

i dont understand Hann.... If its a world wide release and everyone gets it on the 29th... surely we would get it on the 29th?

but we in the UK have hardly ever ever get any release other than on friday, which will be the 2nd.
To be honest, i cant remember the last game that came in that wasnt on a friday.

so how come the 1st? am i missing something? (i usually do!)

The last game not released on a friday was Star Wars Battlefront 2 I believe, it came out on a Monday to coincide with the release of Revenge Of The Sith on DVD

I think we will get GTAIV on the 29th or the Friday of that week *he says in a hopeful tone*

It could be set for a different release day to put all the focus on it rather than it releasing with all the new bottom of the barrel titles.

I said the 1st because I've never known us in the UK ever get a games release on a Monday or Tuesday. Its always a Friday.
BUT My local game shops ALWAYS sell Friday release games on a Thursday.
I thought that was the norm everywhere.

Theres an independent one that always does it. They started selling Unchartered from the Wednesday evening.

Chester is the closest city to me (30 min away) and my mate goes there quite alot to get big release games on the Thursday.
Obviously there are alot of games shops and he always finds at leat one selling the game a day early.

(its not CEX is it? you can always PM me if you dont want to post the name, because i might pop and get some stuff if i can get to that shop)




but yeh, officially its always Friday for releases.. IF Gamestation or Game (or WH Smiths etc..) sell the game before Friday then you can go in to your local game shop tell them where the game is being sold early, they check it to see if its true then when confirmed they are allowed to sell it to you too.

i personally think they should sell it early anyways.
