They're still very hard to find in my area.

I happened to be in Wal-Mart early this morning during a new shipment. Picked up two and put the other on eBay.

(They're still going for around $350, give or take)

Anywho, I'm off to Toys "R" Us to take advantage of their sweet Super Mario Galaxy deal (Buy the game in-store and get a $25 gift card) and then I'll get Twilight Princess for half price.

Hopefully my Wii Component cables will be in by tomorrow

well done, its a great console! (just had to say that before i went off subject and ranted for a bit)


... i was in my game shop the other day, and while in the queue the phone was ringing non stop, and i mean for at least ten mins, who ever it was, they wernt giving up.
As i got to the til, the guy behind the counter said that every day, all the time people just ring about the Wii.. thats what this call was about, the previous call and the next call.. all about when the Wii is in stock.

this is when i think Nintendo have a brillaint game in hand. dont make enough, make everyone want one more. its superb, and it works.


Sony make 'enough' PS3's for the UK launch, in fact it was the biggest launch day sale of any console ever in British History, more than the Wii, PS, PSP, 360.. Xbox etc etc, more than any console in British history.
yet when you tell people, all they want to know is why isnt the Wii in stock it must be selling better.
..mainly becuse of this amazing strategy by Ninty.

its selling like hot cakes becasue everyone thinks its selling out everywhere.. and it is, ONLY because Nintendo arent making enough.

dont get me wrong Ricky... im gald you have a Wii, ive had one since day one.. and it gets fired up every now and again. Wii Sports or PLAY, but thats about it for me. Sonic is cool.. havent played Metroid yet and Zelda (of course) is great too!
for me, the best thing about the Wii is that it plays GC games too.


but i do wonder if Nintendo hadnt of adopted this strategy, would it be in the phenomenal postion that it is in now? i reckon not, but i also say good on them.

after the disaster that fell over the GC at the end of its short life, they deserve this success. the GC should never of died the way it did, bang out of order.

although imo the Wii can never compete with the likes of the true next gen consoles, but i do believe that it could carve the way for future consoles to come, IE: power isnt everything, as once you have the most powerful console on earth.. where do you go after that?

with the Wii, at least the furture is most certainly there.. as long as you can dream up the games that uses the system the way it was developed, and imo NOT on cross console made games.

My thoughts exactly.

I already have the two "true" next-gen consoles.

(Though the 360 might end up on eBay, due to Halo being the only game I ever played, and CoD4 trumps it ten-fold.)

The Wii is very affordable, and the only titles I plan on ever picking up will be First-Party. It is the very definition of secondary console.

I would have bought one ages ago myself, however Nintendo's strategy worked on me as well.

lol, its just amazing... tho i was rather pissed off at this idiot that works in GAME in Reading... i heard him say to an old woman (who was obviously asking him if he owned a Wii).. I heard him say "no, I dont have a wii.. im not 8 years old"

and in fact it was the same guy who actually told me NOT to by a PS3, but to buy a 360 instead.
im surprised he is still employed there, but everyone knows he's an idiot, i guess he is there just to laugh at.



Anyway.. get yourself some Wii Points for those SNES/SEGA emu's and Wii Play and Sports.. really cool games!

wii are still tough to find in Calgary and most of Canada too. If i get some money rolling around, I really want one. SMB3? Link II? new mario! So much good stuff. With xmas coming too, they are going to be even harder to find...
